It’s amazing how these old Tonight Shows still you can watch, it’s weird, you don’t really have to know the people. The show I think has what the new comedy shows don’t, comfort.

Funny that George Segal appeared, and David Spade later appeared on “The Tonight Show” in the mid-1980s, and the two later connected on NBC’s “Just Shoot Me”. How crazy life is.

Entertaining segment if not a bit awkward. Johnny actually seemed pissed right off the bat about the record-less album. lol Segal was quite the character though.

George died from bypass surgery complications.. a surgery that was meant to prolong his life; ironic.
@joebiggs438711 ай бұрын
I remember in Johnny’s last year he started to become a little bit bitter. I still see the episodes because I record them when they’re on late at night. I think it was after his son died. But George Segal was on, and Johnny treated him like crap! He was insulting, and just really unpleasant toward him. Of course, George and Ed laughed, I suppose to keep the comedic tone. I figured he just didn’t like him. But whatever, I don’t know what the reason was. Maybe he was just in a bad mood. He did have a few of those type shows in the last seven or eight months of his Tonight Show career. One night he snapped at an audience member and called him an A-hole for saying “how cold was it…“, People had been doing that since the 60s. I can’t remember one show before that time where he was like that. I hate to say it, but I think maybe we were getting a glimpse into the “real” Johnny Carson? Although I did say he had just lost his son.

Segal looked like he was loaded. Was that not the problem?
@joebiggs438711 ай бұрын
@@Mike7O7O the show during the 91/92 season? He didn’t seem to be loaded. Of course I could be wrong. Right off the top Johnny called him Skippy, because of what he was wearing. Which was attire from some play he was pushing.
