how crazy is it that Sammy is almost 3 years older than George? Sammy never grew up and it's a testament to how he looks and feels now. your mind is super powerful.

Saw George in a club called Headliners in Madison Wisconsin back in the early 80s. What Lonesome George brought to the table was total attitude! My favorite song was always, it wasn't me, Dude was always the Baddest Dog in the house.

I was at the Rolling Stones show two nights in a row in LA in 1981 when George Thorogood, Prince, and Jay Giles band Played with them it was awesome Prince was first to play he was booed off stage both days I couldn't believe it I thought he was great, next was George in his prime excellent performance then Jay Giles both of them kicked ass but the Stones were fantastic. I still have an unused ticket for the second day I was 21 years old great memories.

I first saw George Thorogood more than 40 years ago at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. Then saw him open for the Stones in their tour opener at JFK Stadium in 1981. I've seen him a bunch of times since, and he almost puts on an entertaining show. by contrast, I was slow to come around on Sammy Hagar, but watching his interviews and his occasional work with his neighbor Bob Weir, I've become a fan the last 5-10 years.

Sammy! I LOVE your R & R Road trip series. I saw George at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis, MO in the late '80s/early '90s. He was awesome! He came out rockin' at 100 miles per hour. After half an hour of rocking, he finally took a breath to say "Enough of the warmup, let's start the show!" During "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" that night, he said "...gimme a triple shot of that ST. LOUIE JUICE!!!" We all, of course, screamed like banshees. A long time ago, but such an awesome show. I remember it like yesterday. Great job, Sammy! Great job, George!

The sound of George thorogood's guitar has been ingrained so deeply into my psyche that I recognize it the instant his thumb pick hits those strings. Is it his gear setup? Is it that choice of guitar? The pickups on that guitar? A mixture of all three of those things? He created a signature guitar sound that I've never heard anybody else make and to this day when you hear him play that guitar you know instantly who's doing it

I don't know either but I know exactly what you mean. So unique and incredible. I would love to sometime s just cut everything out except his guitar. I don't think many people can hear what we hear. Maybe we have the ability to separate all the sounds coming at us. I try to tell folks "just listen to the guitar "

There comes a time when all the cosmic tumblers have clicked into place - and the universe opens itself up for a few seconds to show you what's possible - Ray Kinsella in "Field of Dreams". That's what happened when GT was matched up with the Gibson 125, and what happens when he performs and we have the opportunity to listen to this master.

His name definitely needs to be mentioned with the Clapton‘s, the Jeff Beck’s, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen…, he uses all of his fingers, and sounds better than with a pick. As a matter of fact, you couldn’t do what he does with a pick. Greatness personified.

I would like to know how rock singers feel singing the same song over and over for 40 years ? love it or hate it.
@s4lroachclip
@s4lroachclip 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on if they love the song. Mainly though if you could sing the same songs for 40 years and make the money they made doing it. You wouldn't complain. Some have said that some hits are songs they hate doing but only because they feel like they HAVE to do them, whether they want to or not. Other than that if they don't love what they do they would stop. OK I feel like i have spoken to enough "stars" to have given this answer with 100% accuracy. I am going to give a quote from Troy Luccketta whether or not he wants me to. He once told me, "there ain't no stars here but the ones in the sky, and im standing on the same ground you are." Sammy should do a show with Troy, and/or Tesla.

I like George but what he says, and Sam agrees with, near the end about the Elvis, Chuck Berry etc having no templates to work from is utter nonsense. It's extraordinary after all this time that generation is still getting away with saying this stuff. Elvis, Berry, all the "original rocknrollers'" heroes are all very well documented and they were predominately all their preceding and contemporary bluesmen and women - and also some country people. People like T Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and countless other R andB and blues artists who gave birth to a more commercialized and pop form of rocknroll.
