A solo performance built using Native Instruments' Maschine, played in one track at a time to build a full arrangement, over which I'm then playing a synthesizer solo. Having huge fun with this device, and just scratching the surface!

Wow! love that lead sound! I remember hearing it a long time ago on that amazing solo you did with the Brecker Brothers, that live concert in Barcelona! I used to watch that VHS over and over!

That sound is actually my oldest lead sound; I found the basis of it in a Yamaha DX-100 on a cruise ship in 1986 and tweaked it to be what I think of as a very Chick Corea-like lead. Then I ported it over into my first DX7, then the DX7-II, then the Motif ES, and now it's in Native Instruments' FM8. No touch sensitivity, I've tried to add it and it ruins it. But weirdly responsive anyway!

Mr. Whitty, what was the make and model of the main keyboard you were using? My guess is that it was not weighted. The passages you were playing required a very fast key return that acweight action would not give you. Is this correct?
