It’s 2023, and this makes me smile, and it breaks my heart. As a “first generation” Fab fan, 12 yo when they first appeared on Sullivan, it’s not hyperbole to say they changed my life. I listen to George, and Ringo and John and Paul, everyday, and they’ll be played at my funeral. I can’t imagine a world without The Beatles.

I was eight years old when the Beatles debuted on The Ed Sullivan show. They definitely changed my life. When John and George died, I felt like I had lost members of my family.

@@CinnamonRedOneI've just got to ask... Might that sexy little profile image of yours, by any chance be at all representative of your actual, in-the-flesh appearance? It's that I ask only because it recalled to me the image and memory of a fiery one that I (when so much younger), had once had the immense pleasure of knowing and holding and calling my own, her. And the sweet heart that beat behind the faint freckle-peppered, rose pink-tipped, creamy white, silky soft mounds of lady joy breast that I held pressed to my own, far less interesting chest...

@@juarezcosta3160 Yes, for many (including John & Paul and George Martin) the genius of George Harrison only became apparent to them after The Beatles split. Many of George's songs (particularly after The Beatles), have greater longevity than John's and Paul's songs.

Thanks to Jeff Lynne for reviving George's career with the album Cloud Nine, The Traveling Wilburys, Brainwashed and finally a superb homage with the concert for George. Gotta admit I'm a major Macca fan and just never really got into George's music beyond a few tracks here and there. That said, I'm so grateful to have found this Brainwashed EPK as it presents solid evidence of how much love went into the production of these tunes... I remember being fairly impressed with the album shortly after its release, but only really listened to a handful of tracks from it. Think I'll go ahead and give the full album a proper spin this afternoon -- thanks much to this great and inspiring video! -- and am really looking forward to the experience...

With all of Paul McCartney's arrogance I think in the end that he had to admit to himself that George was writing and playing better music than even he was. The messed up thing is that even after John Lennon died, George once said that he'd known Paul for over 30 years and never once did he ask him to actually take part in "writing" a song together with him. That really tells us why George was the first Beatle to quit because Paul tended to underestimate his ability as a well rounded musician and never gave him a chance. I believe Paul never stopped looking at him as the youngest member who they had doubts about him keeping up with the rest of the band.

I think your words perfectly sum up the George/Paul dynamic in it's truest sense. The whole Beatle thing took a huge toll on George & in many ways spent the rest of his days recovering from it - particularly the business side, the greed & acrimony - must have frustrated him lots. Being 'that' famous must have been terrifying at times. No wonder he said 'The Beatles gave their nervous systems' ... He was a beautiful spirit & so human with it. I'll always love him & always miss him. Thank you for the memories & music George. Peace !! Rx

It's such a gift to those that love George, that Dhani looks so much like his dad, and has such respect and love for his father. Clearly they had a great relationship. That makes me admire George even more. I've heard so many stories about rock stars who had bad or nonexistent relationships with their children, that seeing George was a good dad just adds to the many reasons to admire him.
@hollypotthoff8965
@hollypotthoff8965 9 жыл бұрын
Very well said. Dhani really loves and respects his dad, and considering George's profession (other than being a really cool gardener) as an ex-Beatle and a great musician, that often led to trouble with other real-life musicians and their kids. George was just so unique in the way he lived his life---it just rubbed off on his family and everyone he knew. He is so missed!

+CoolEuro What you wrote is rubbish. Truth be told George cheated on his wives, was a run around guy. When he had Dhani he was just ready to settle down, same as John when he had Sean was ready to settle down and be a dad. Had he not been murdered, Sean would have had a great dad and even Julian as they were getting closer and bonding. Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans.

Great is a word tossed around but George truly was "great" for many things, not just being a Beatle, or for his music or even for his committed spirituality...but because he could bring all three together and change the world with them all. That is a GREAT SOUL and to boot, he had a love of gardening which clearly comes through. Much missed George...hope you are looking down and sending your wisdom!

It truly is a beautiful album. Been listening to it over and over for the past 2-3 weeks. Nice job guys, bringing George to us. I'd bought the CD some years ago, also gave it as a gift then. But somehow George has been calling me lately, and I find he has so much to offer that is hard to find elsewhere. I love his spirituality. It is refreshing and quenches a thirst. I admit that he was a bit eclipsed for me in the past by John, but now I hear him and am thrilled to get to know him, as it were...Funny how a person can have been there all along, but something in you changes, and all of a sudden a new relationship forms. Anyway, this album exudes warmth, wisdom, levity and truth--not to mention beautiful songsmithing. A big Bravo to George, Dhani and Jeff, and me for finally waking up! ;)

You know when I think about it, McCartney is indeed a great songwriter, Lennon was the necessary rebel, & Ringo was the one to keep alive & continue the whole 60s & 70s tradition with his all-star bands. Surprisingly well too. He continues to entertain without any harsh words or bitterness. He was humorously always the mature one. But George Harrison -- ah, George Harrison. He was the one I respected. He was the one.

Dhani says something about the number 7 that we would not know. Now that I think about it, "Stuck Inside A Cloud" is my favourite song from the album. Jeff Lynne states how good George's slide guitar is on the album. There are a couple of moments that really stand out for me. At the start of ¨Stuck Inside A Cloud¨", George makes the slide guitar sound like an Indian instrument (Inner Light?). On Brainwashed, we are treated to the novel combination of slide guitar and tabla (just perfect).
