but the lather, I guess is not so good like Artko.Why? Arko for me has a super razor gliding , super thick, super skin protecting lather.its Nr.1 in the world..I'm Arko diehard Arko Fan from switzerland!!

Hi Mark. A very good save. I`ve never tried the Derby shave stick but I use my Arco sticks all the time. Sticks are good for traveling or at home. Thanks for the video. Take care.

How is the shave stick stored when not in use?

Hi, Ross!:) I pretty much just wipe it off (if needed) and let it dry out in the open. Once dry, I place it on the shelf. Comparable to Arko until you try to buy it. Arko can be had for $1.25 per stick in boxes of 12. I could only find Derby at $6+ per stick. No thanks. Thank you for the review.

the derby extra razor isn't a good razor, it's so mild and smooth that it's more for shaving light body hair instead of thicker beard hair

I can understand where folks will have different takes on these blades.:) I'm fair-skinned so, for me, they work.:) Someone with a thicker beard, maybe not so much. Still, others may find they do work.:) As they say, YMMV.:)

First ... Hi Mark how do you like that Stainless steel razor ?

I like it a lot!:) Probably the only SS razor (AFAIK) at that price point!:) I have several razors with SS handles but the base plate and cap are zamak. The Fendrihan is fully stainless.:) I've never tried Fendrihan's MKI razors, but I've heard they are rather aggressive. As I understand it, the MKII was designed to be milder. It's a mild to almost aggressive shave. I believe these are made in Taiwan. Very well made and the precision/blade alignment is spot on. The stainless steel cap is nicely polished, but the handle is not...it's much more organic and rugged.

Thanks. Very informative. I didn't even know how to use a shave stick! :) I got a Derby shave stick as a sample product with the purchase of a straight razor and wondered how it even worked. Shaving soaps and creams I have used, but this will be a first. Again, thanks!

Steven, Thanks for the kind words.:) I think you're gonna love using the shave stick!:) Derby is right up there with Arko.:) makes heaps of lathe.:) Any brush can be used, I've gotten best results with a good synthetic brush followed by a good boar brush.:) Enjoy!:)
