Georgia Brown, star of Broadway's "Oliver!", performs a rousing music hall medley in this rare British TV appearance from 1975.

I saw Georgia Brown on Broadway as Nancy in Oliver...also with Davy Jones as the Artful Dodger before he became a Monkee. I always loved Georgia Brown

The BBC had Georgia Brown play Marie Lloyd in one of the late lamented "Saturday Night Theatre" on the Radio. It was brilliant.

The recent repeat of 'The Roads to Freedom' brought me here. Georgia was great in that.

There's nothing to compare to Music Hall. America's closest thing we got maybe is ragtime or the original Opry House...not sure... This is just wonderful.

A wonderfully talented lady. What a voice. She should have played Nancy in the screen version of "Oliver" instead of the wishy-washy Shani Wallis.

She was perfect for Nancy on the stage because she had a tough persona - way truer to the way the character would have been. Shani Wallis was way too nice for it I always thought. Actually the film was altogether too nice for the drama that it actually is.

Absolutely agreed. Shani Wallis was the safe Hollywood choice - slim, virginal. Georgia had all the guts of Dickens - why she didn’t get the film role is beyond me!
