I was fortunate to have been in this show and I watched this number from the wings every performance. Georgia was magnificent on and offstage and we all miss her very much. To young actors I say, "This is how it's done!"

My uncle happens to have been in this show, I found my moms old playbills from seeing him in it and it’s crazy because I’m now a theater kid as well. Stephen Rosenberg

I loved it so much the first time, I saw it again a week later. I am sorry that it wasn't recorded. "Live a Little" still sounds in my head, as does "Life Is Ahead Of Me." The score was gorgeous and the performances were some of the best ever.

I am so glad I got to see this show twice. She was amazing. As was the rest of the cast... Bob Gunton, Alex Paez, etc... amazing. I actually have an audio recording of this show on cassette. I remember this fondly as well as the Act I Closing, "Moon Like A Silver Window". Awesome.

+Frank Zagottis Hi, from France, and Huge fan of Becaud, manage to find the music score of Roza but still looking for any recording complete or partial, amateur or pro. If you can do something...

I would love to hear the audio recording as my uncle was in this when he was in 8th grade and it’s insane that I found the playbill from it in my basement

Thank you for this wonderful clip of a show that I'm so sorry I missed. Georgia Brown is thrilling. I love her gutsy physicalization of the melody. She is not concerned with being pretty - only of being true.

Thank you! "Carmelina" ran only 28 performances including previews and they recorded that show. I'm glad of course, but why not record "Roza" - especially with a star in Georgia Brown.

I knew about this show and just discovered this clip. Wow! I saw Georgia Brown in Carmelina which was fluff but this is quite unbelievable. Brava Brava Brava! Thank you for this.

OMG! I lived in L.A. when this show did it's out-of-town before going to Broadway. As "Madame Rosa" is favorite film, I wish I could have seen it. I CAN'T BELIEVE this video exists - wow. THANK YOU so much for posting this - have always wondered what this show was like. Thanks for the chance to see even just a little piece of it.

The fact that she was not nominated for a Tony for this show is a travesty. It is certainly a flawed show , but her performance (as well as Bob Gunton’s) was a masterclass in performance.

She shouts too much. I prefer the French version by Annie Cordy

Yes She does.

Good lord, does the young girl think she's in Annie? She spoils the mood. The orchestration is deadly, it kills the song. The lyrics are weak, overly simple, not daring to convey the mood, though Georgia Brown does, anyway. She equals Signoret in the part.
@jochenstossberg542711 ай бұрын
Agree with all this. Terrible song and the orchestrations are terrible. But Signoret was matchless, with no hysterics.
