These guys are probably the most “rock n roll” rock n roll band of all time.

Back in Atlanta they would play this song as the Hell Hounds in Atlanta's Margaritaville on Friday nights and it blows the original Johnny Rivers version out of the ocean. I know I was the house sound man.

Dana Horton, Johnny was a good singer and everything, but to compare him to Rick Richards, whose beret and and cassette of "Nebraska" are still in my collection of cool stuff from the early-eighties, including a softball from the pay phone targeting incident.

It still escapes me why they didn't become the biggest American rock band ever. There is still a band called the Georgia Satellites, but they lack luster without Dan Baird. Dan Baird and 2 of the original Georgia Satellites still rock with Dan Baird and Homemade Sin, The Yayhoos, and The Bluefields.

Here's something to consider. The Homemade Sin band (if I am not mistaken) had Keith Christopher, and that actually makes it more GA Satellites than GA Satellites. But I'm not sure on that. I agree that without Dan it isn't the same in the old band. I absolutely loved Rick Richards on guitar. Truly underrated guitarist. Rick Price on bass ain't no slouch either with his Dan Armstrong clear bass. I've enjoyed seeing Dan the 3 times I have. I met Mauro twice and he seems like a really cool guy. I really wish though I could have seen the original line up of this band....Dan...Come on. Just a handful of shows with the original boys....Please!

I loved them but they mostly do covers.

I watched a good portion of a You Tube interview with Dan Baird. Much more to know. News to me but love the music!

At 2m 45s something falls on Rick Richards' fret board. Is it ice, or maybe water? Please help if you can figure it out.
