My advice to high school grads: Attend a technical school. Get your associates in a field that gets you well paying job right away. From there you can go continue your education in these four year colleges while making money.

Good advice! Though I think it also heavily depends on your field. I think working a well-paying, major-related internship during the school year (while working towards a 4-year degree) can also be a great path to take!

All of the money (free money) for college hard stops at 26. So if you want to be a OT or something you may ran to take 1 gap year at most and then knock it out.

Right now choosing UMiami and UGA. I’m aware UMiami is harder to get into but the financial aid is the worst.

Both great choices! Acceptance rate doesn’t mean as much compared to the actual program you’re interested in though!

hey there, i see this is an old video so you might not be checking it anymore but i was wondering, as someone who's applied to both, which school do you think is harder to get into? i love atl i feel like gt would be a good fit for me but i feel like i have a much higher chance at getting into uga. ive taken 9 ap's plus taking 6 more right now and ive scored well but the only math/science ones ive taken is apes and ap stat (plus a DE algebra and precalc), the rest are english/history ap's. because of that i feel like im more likely to get into uga tho i'd prefer tech. any thoughts or advice?

@@Natalie-ml3ty Hi! Out of the two, GT is probably the more challenging one to get into. However, both are great schools so earning admission to either one is definitely very competitive. I know people that got into UGA and not GT and vice versa. I don’t think classes matter as much as everyone thinks in high school, although GT probably does like to see more STEM focused classes (math, science, etc.). My AP classes were mostly STEM from what I remember and I ended up getting into UGA and conditional acceptance to GT. I think what’s most important is how you market yourself on your application and truthfully after that a lot of it is luck. I wouldn’t stress about it though! Also, being in-state is a slight advantage.

Hi, I'm deciding between UGA, Tech, and a couple other schools but those two are at the top of my list rn. Overall, which campus would you say is more modern in terms of general facilities like study spaces and dining halls, and in classrooms?
@JustSayNatasha
@JustSayNatasha Жыл бұрын
GT is more modern overall. UGA has more of a homey feel. UGA food is much better than GT’s. Still both wonderful top choices.

I know this an old video, but if you’re still checking it, can you provide insight on the demographics of older undergrad people at Tech? I’m currently at Kennesaw State but looking to transfer to Tech. My concerns is being in class with a bunch of kids and how I will be perceived as someone in their 40s and already making 6 figures. KSU lets me take a lot of my classes online so I rarely have to go to campus. I know this is not the case at Tech. However, I need the degree to get an MBA to move into Executive level management. Thanks in advance!

Hi!! Thanks for your comment, this is a great question! I’ve actually been in several classes where there have been students that are 40+ that are there to get their degree! They are mostly ex-athletes from what I have seen, but I’m sure there are others. You will definitely be around mostly younger students (18-22), but truthfully I don’t think anyone really cares. I remember that seeing older students was something I took notice of but never negatively judged for. If anything, I feel like I had respect more than anything for older students for pursuing their education in an environment that can feel uncomfy. From my experience, classes are mostly in-person though, so you will likely be on campus quite often. There are some you can take online depending on what your concentration is. If you have any concentration-specific questions, I’d be happy to try to help you answer those as well and maybe give you a list of some of the online classes I took (although I’m unsure if some of them are still offered online) I hope this helps!

I have a question. I got a conditional transfer from Georgia tech. Is it hard making friends as a transfer, also is it hard to change major at tech?
@JustSayNatasha
@JustSayNatasha 4 ай бұрын
Hey hey! Super easy to switch, however, only if you transfer normally. If you accept your conditional offer I believe you must stick with the major you were accepted for, but you can add a secondary major if you’d like (this may have changed, but I have a friend that transferred on conditional acceptance and ended up double majoring because of this). You will have no problem making friends! A lot of the time you will have classes with other transfers and that makes it a lot easier:). It’s also never too late to join clubs/get involved! I hope this helps!

I’m deciding rn between UGA and TCU, which I feel like is similar to tech vs UGA (obviously tech is a better school than TCU). But did u really know any teachers at UGA or have any smaller classes?
@JustSayNatasha
@JustSayNatasha Жыл бұрын
Hey! Out of every professor I've had I would say that there were 2 that I felt like I made a very strong connection with. I had one class that was small but the rest of mine were pretty large. I've heard that as you start to take more niche classes for your major that the class size will naturally decrease. What is your major if you don't mind me asking? I think that it's important to consider which school has the better program for what you want to do!

@@KumarDipankarsahoo12 There is honestly never a guarantee. The acceptance rate is quite low and it considers factors beyond just scores and grades. If you are top of your class it definitely increases your chances though! I know that Valedictorians (and I think the runner up) get automatic acceptance into GT.

Something else I didn't mention in the video- no one at UGA cares about GT (or even talks about GT really). Only GT students/professors seem to rip on UGA and it gets a bit repetitive and annoying LOL. Gives me a bit of a sour taste towards GT. It feels like the rivalry is one-sided which is a bit embarrassing for Tech ngl. I love GT but "THWG" makes me cringe.
