Anonymity allows you to express yourself as you truly are. It allows you to express your opinions without fear of punishment. Then by expressing your opinions it allows you to refine them. Without the internet I would not be as strong a debater as I am. Learn to develop tougher skin. Words can't hurt you. We must protect free speech and resist those who think any argument is a bad thing. The fact is that conflict is inevitable when you stand up for what you believe in.

It’s important to remember too that there are bots on all social media, posting hateful comments to break down feelings of social cohesion. If you (like me) love Georgia Dow and seeing those cruddy comments makes you feel hopeless about humanity, try to remind yourself that Georgia is a real person putting out positivity, while those commentors might not be real humans at all.

What makes this funnier (or sadder) is that most of them do seem to be commenting because they're hurt and want to hurt someone else, take the person who didn't like her because she reminded them of somebody else for example. They really chose the wrong person to attack.

I've been working in the IT industry as an engineer for nearly 3 decades, and in that time, I've noticed there is a certain meanness some people have online that strikes me as similar to the meanness certain people can have towards people in the service industry (like cashiers at a grocery store). I have come to believe that when someone is in enough pain that they feel a need to lash out at others, they will select individuals who can't fight back - either by lashing out behind the anonymity of a computer, or people in a service position where their job duties preclude them from fighting back. I very much enjoy your reaction videos with cosplay: putting in the extra effort to come up with a look that matches your topic, and I am willing to bet the bulk of your audience feels very much the same. Haters are going to hate, and they will view anyone on the internet as a potential emotional punching bag, so I hope you take that for what it is and never let it affect you.

It’s pure cowardice. 99% of the bs things they say online they’d NEVER say to the persons face for fear of retribution. The name “troll” for them sticks for a reason; cowardly, obscene, detestable, loud, dumb, and sadistic. It fits perfectly and they proudly call themselves it sometimes. So weird.

As a writer, your channel is invaluable. Dissecting how different works depict mental illnesses and psychological conditions and whether they pull off depicting the symptoms accurately or if they successfully create a discussion or awareness with their art. We can't become better artists without criticism, seeing what works and doesn't, what launches conversations and what doesn't, what resonates or not, etc.

It would be easy to react very harsh but you turn it into something positive … if they are willing to really listen. I like your cosplays because it shows your passion and that you analyse fictional characters … or even the fact that there is something to analyse … did help me to understand why I feel emotionally attached to some fictional characters or why I get so much emotionally involved in something like „Arcane“. And it actually made me even more enthusiastic because I get a better understanding of writing as an art. Thank you for your content.

After 30+ years of work in production (acting, directing, writing, sound design, singing, fight choreography, V.O., video editing, etc.), I've seen it all. In 96% or more instances, the people spouting venom, vitriol, and vomitous remarks have accomplished *NOTHING* in their own lives. Ever. They're not even professional critics either because they lack the very fundamentals which are required to comprehend the position; one of which is being UNBIASED, and a second being impartiality. 🙄 Ultimately, unless someone has serious accolades in a field, don't bother listening to them. We wouldn't ask a convenience store clerk for legal advice, right? Well, I wouldn't ask for people's opinions on *MY* work unless they were already at my level or higher... which makes a lot of sense. I'd listen to Spielberg and Villeneuve, but not some random ruffian on social media, lmao. 😂 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind's journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul's fate revealed. In time, all points converge; hope's strength resteeled. But to earn final peace at the universe's endless refrain, we must see all in nothingness... before we start again." 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ --Diamond Dragons (series)

8:00 even from a legal standpoint, the reason you do something greatly determines the intensity of the punishment. If you run over someone with the intent to getting rid of them, you have the maximum punishment. If you run over someone because it was dark, your breaks suddenly failed and someone was covering your eyes from the back seat, it's kinda absurd expecting the same punishment, even if the result is exactly the same 🤔

I wish I had a friend like you. Not as a therapist (although I'm sure you're a pretty good one as your videos helped me), but because you seem like such a kind and genuine person around my age. I’d love to have friends like you. Thanks to you, I’m still holding onto hope that I’ll find people like this someday. Keep being you, you're wonderful! ❤

Ah, Internet-level hate and "superior knowledge" than trained/licensed individuals who "clearly know nothing". Gotta love that. Especially when comes from people you used to look up to. Like when I confided to my brother that I tried to end my life and he just laughed at me and called me "attention-seeking whiny b****". Yeah, thanks a lot there. But I'm digressing. Also, the Hazbin Hotel fandom. Ah, watch with from where you get with them, KZbin and Twitter have a high chance of interacting with just the worst of them (this is approximation, but based on personal experiences they've been the places with the worst interactions I've had). I've got death threats five times from "fanboys" just for stating the obvious (like, "that's headcannon/not canon/the creator never said that" level of obvious). As a big Hellaverse fan, it sucks to go through massive amounts of gymnastics just to be able to find a community that share your interest that will NOT threaten you and your family just because you know that that one pair is not canon. 😅

I think happiness comes from overcoming sadness.
@sersnuggles7697
@sersnuggles7697 15 күн бұрын
That is true, earned happiness of course. Other forms of happiness do exist but none as foundational and strong as the prior. Eg: Infectious happiness works only until one doesn't continue the cycle then the opposite may begin. In addition the more often you overcome sadness the more skillful you are at wisdom, it's like a muscle. You swim often so you can not drown in every wave of sadness that hits you, and you can also save others even teach them too. Which is why I view sadness as the fuel of happiness not the bad Boogeyman people see it as. When I'm sad I go WAHOOOO and write my feelings down to craft characters and art and introspect. Fun stuff sadness is.

The fact that you like to cosplay the character you're discussing I find really creative and a charming and unique approach. And this idea that even a cartoon character _can't_ be anything deeper than a piece of entertainment is incredibly shallow-thinking.

11:44 this is so real! I have dealt with sadness my whole life and it wasn’t until I was feeling so eaten up and such a shell, in the deepest throes of it, it took my husband pleading with me to seek help that I realized I was genuinely depressed. I am finally diagnosed and on medication loving my best life! But parts of you get swallowed and or eaten away to the point you don’t realize what part of you is missing anymore, until nothing is left.

I'll never understand why so many people think that their opinions are somehow cold, hard facts. Also, I love the outfits. It adds more personality to your videos and makes them fun. Unrelated, but I'm hoping you might some day do analysis videos on some of the characters in the Cobra Kai series. I feel like there's potential for some interesting stuff there (unless you've already done some, in which case let me know and I'll go check those out!)

Georgia, I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude. You’re absolutely lovely, and I hope you never change. For over a year now, I’ve been seeing a psychologist-something I thought about for three years but never felt confident enough to pursue. I used to struggle with trusting anyone in your profession, but after discovering your channel, I changed my mind. Your videos gave me the courage to take the leap, and the experience has been transformative on so many levels. As a huge fan of The Last of Us Part 1, I’ve watched all your related videos, and they’ve been eye-opening. You’ve helped me see how beautifully complex we are as humans and how powerful it can be to understand ourselves better through therapy. Thank you for everything you do. You’ve made a real difference in my life, and I’m sure in the lives of many others. Please keep up the amazing work.

I love the cosplay and the work you put into it! It makes you more accessible and human and it makes your channel fun! I also very much appreciate your insights, especially your thoughtful and though-provoking analyses of Arcane and complexity of the characters and story telling. Without your discussions, I'd still be struggling wrap my around some of the subtleties. Your work is DEFINITELY appreciated!

The hand movement also makes you seem more like an open person. Body language speaks volumes, and it makes me feel like you're being more authentic, maybe even more willing to be vulnerable with me. If I was sitting on your couch, I'd appreciate it.

I haven't watched the video yet but here's my opinion. People start to be rude on the Internet in order to vent their emotions that they accumulate in everyday life, because on the Internet, by and large, nothing will be done to you and you will not be shamed for it.

Georgia, i’m glad you don’t take these comments to heart and have used them as an opportunity to inform on the various reasons why people are rude and dismissive toward others. i have Antisocial Personality Disorder, and as i’m sure you’re well aware, that made me a problem patient for a very long time. i went through many therapists, specialists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. i was a violent, mean, cold, vindictive, angry, and foul mouthed teenager who despised authority and enjoyed being destructive. i was in and out of units a lot because my mother refused to have me arrested for the various terrible things i did back then. i’m revealing this information because you remind me a lot of a therapist i had while in one of the units. she was soft spoken like you are, kind, and very positive. normally that type of therapist is someone who would (most likely) not want to deal with a patient like me because of how combative i was back then (and admittedly i would’ve despised the bubbly personality 😂) but she was very calm and non reactive, which is something i needed at the time. she would ask questions and analyze the things i said in the same way you’ve interpreted these comments, without shame or judgment. i just want you to know that you are making a difference and i really enjoy your videos. not trying to be parasocial here, but i genuinely think that if i were still in therapy and you were local to me, you’d make a great therapist for me lol. anyway, i hope you had / are having a great holiday 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Not only is it confirming for me but also it will give hope for others who are dealing with aspd or have a family member with it. I think that this out of all disorders gets maligned in the media and is can cause quite a stigma. Thank you for sharing and being a part of my community. Wish you the best
