The one dude in the black shirt lying down on his stomach....priceless dojo etiquette.

Maybe he was given a pass to do so after being belly flop jackknifed onto his stomach?

Once again, another great video with clear and efficient technique. I have forums the Georgian grip is great for wrestlers and BJJ who love to shoot in. They already get themselves in position so it's just a matter of quickly getting hand position and lowering base. I tend to step away from the shoot so they have to redirect their momentum giving a moment to get the grip but has been working beautifully. Do you have any other thoughts or tips on nullifying the shoot? Thanks again for another great demo.

You are on a solid track by using your movement of stepping away. My athletes have found a lot of success by moving laterally-usually to their strong side or the side they throw from to offset an opponent's straight in shoot. Most wrestlers go forward in a straight line-that works in wrestling, but in Judo and Sambo, we move in angles and to corners. that often throws them off.

Why would'nt this be legal since you are not grabbing the legs? I do like the throw, looks good, see lots of options with it!

Melvin Robinson It may be, but it's hard to keep up on what they allow and don't allow these days. In any event, it's an effective move. Thanks for the comment.

I love your teaching but guess they don´t let you grip belt with 2 hands , some referees ay thing is bodylock

+Nico Contreras The IJF rules limit a lot of skillful techniques like this these days. This used to be allowed in the IJF. In the AAU Judo rules including Freestyle Judo, this grip and technique is permitted. Also, this is used often in sambo.

+welcomematstevescott Strange thing is that Beka did it in Judo this year but in my country no referee will allow me to do it so I just grab belt and an arm to try osoto gari, sasaeo or tsuri Goshi... Sambo is not popular here but is growing so I´ll be ready when a tournament comes...
