I think it was pretty clear near the end. We went through possible timelines interacting with camellya, and no matter what we always meet her as if bounded by fate. And the reason she decided to lose her memories is to not overclock or die when/if the rover appear again. After camellya said it herself stop worrying about the past or the future. Live in the moment.

My issue with this though is that we went through these different realities without knowing what actually happened in the past between them so the significance of these meetings of fate didn't really matter because they weren't real. I wish they had focused on their actual history more, the little we got was interesting but I doubt we are getting more as you said camellya said about looking forward and not back which is fine but for lore, I'm not satisfied 😭

And as a plus camellya now knows that rover really is her “promising seed”. Maybe because I’m a more camellya simp that I understand this more 😂. ​@@georgieegamesi think we saw it when camellya run through her past memories and overclocked again that they kind of went from rivals and no matter what happened they were always fated to meet each other rover went on their journey to find another possible to deafeat the lament deleting their memories (for unknown reason) and camellya couldn't handle that which is why her overclocking got worse she made the decission to erase her memory and go on her own adventure and she got back to the Black shores again and met the rover again, the thing with the different timeline is that no matter what happened was that they would always meet each other even as friends or enemies like they were fated to meet which was miss floras fear that they won't but yeah... (Now im kinda confused by my own writing xD lol) so the feeling is that rover walks that path alone to find the solutution for everything but they arent alone bc camellya is meeting them no matter what making their fate not so sad anymore.... (for me it's the best Story quest bc it kinda gives more lore to rover but it is understandable if it's confusing 😅)

The story was in my opinion great...like 8.5/10 ...the problem was that it threw alot of information at people that they simply couldnt remember which created confusion later in the story and made people feel like alot of things werent explained even though they were...

After reading through a bunch of data logs in 1.3 and Camellia + 1.4 story the Rover personality is pretty clear-cut. Past Rover was someone very special and is a lot stronger than everyone else. They have been fighting against the Lament for thousands of years. They wanted to unite the world to fight back against the Lament and actively went out of their way to try and save everyone even if it was against the Tethys system prediction. But they have a major weakness that is they're unable to rely on others for help and shoulder everything themselves. Despite being the leader of Black shore barely anyone except a select few even know anything about them. So they choose to forget everything and be reborn into the Rover we now know. And just like how Camellia's personality barely changes despite losing all her memory "The mind forgets, but the body remembers" the new Rover now free from their shackles from years and years of responsibility and just follows their INSTINCT to do good, to help the people and save everyone. Ever since 1.0 we have seen them rely more on the people around them like Jiyang, Changli, Jinhsi,... Making more decisive decisions that past Rover couldn't like resetting the Tethys system to save Shorekeeper. And overall just being a happier person.

Story was great. Essentially the story was between a mentor and student. Camellya wants to do good hence why she wants to join the black shores but she has this internal struggle with herself to be worthy. That worthiness eventually became twisted, once her memory was wiped by competition through battle. Thing is her memory was wiped a few times and in all instances Camellya always had a strong connection with Rover. That student/teacher connection runs deep, deeper than just surface memories. Its a core feeling, its, as Camellya put it, instinctual. The story pretty much told us destiny in this universe is set. The Tethys system creates multiple timelines in its quest to predict the future lament and in all timelines, Camellya always gravitates towards Rover. Its not clear if destiny is determined by individual emotions, connections, or a higher power puppeting everything.

Pretty sure Yangyang mentioned at the beginning of the game that resonators tend to live up to a little over 100 years old, so I guess that explains why Camellya looks so young at 40 something.

The best way to understand the rover and Camellya relationship is Camellya is literally Rover's joker. She is actually a being of chaos like the joker almost one to one. While there might be a better way they could have told the story. In the end the meaning of the story is it doesn't matter what time line it is joker and Batman (rover and Camellya) are always destined to meet each other. Also Rover keeps Camellya by her side because she is the only one "strong" who can control her to an extent and keep her at bay. Also let's be honest Rover's into her craziness because she's a being beyond understanding and time. They say in wuthering waves if you are to enter her mind you would literally go insane. She is a being who can only be anchored to the universe because of Abby her resonator. Sorry for the winded explanation but I agree that this could have been told better however I really like the parallel to Batman and the Joke.

yeah i think many failled to undertand Camellya character, Camellya doesnt care about future and past, coz dig the past or overthink the future can shake her emotions and cause her to overclock (overclocking is tied to emotions), so living the present is her "life style", she doest care about consequences, being good or bad, etc... she just act by instinct and her instinct always leads her to Rover, no matter the timeline. Once u understand Camelly character u stop trying to find reasons why she doing it or that and everything makes more sense.

I figured this story would lean on the same vibe we had when we first met her: combative, obsessive and maybe a bit of mutual respect while still heavily disapproving of her behavior. It’s hard to pull that dynamic off well. But this story felt more like rover and camellya had a mutually friendly relationship with camellya being more like a rambunctious child. There was no joker frienemies dynamic. She came off way too sympathetic and sweet. Let’s not forget that she murders people in cold blood for fun. Why did we not see more of that side of her? Camellya reset her memory 20 years ago because she afraid she cant meet Rover again, and it is her main issue to make she overclocking, but in this quest, she saw many parallel universes, she can always meet Rover and be saved, so this time she change her mind, she believe even if they have to be separated, maybe they will meet again after another 20 years, or maybe meet in another universe, so she dont care about the past and future, she just want focus on the moment with Rover now, mental issue will not make her overclocking again. This is how I understand the story, the story of her change in mindset and defeat overclocking.

This is my thought about her quest ( personal opinion ): 1-We can see Lady Flora don't have any memories about the time before she came to village , just like Camel don't have any memories about Flora . So , I think Camel's forte gave her immortal body ( as a plant ) but her mind is limit , just like XianZhou ppl from HSR , when her mind is full of memories she will be come insane one . The thing be come overclocking is not her body but her mind , so she alway have to wipe her mind when the day coming . 2- inside Camel alway have 2 personalities : the red hair one and white hair one . Red hair is crazy personalities , they are all of her memories , swallow all of her previous personalities . White hair is her current personality , when "the day" coming white hair will wipe out her merories , give born to new personality and then got swallow by red hair. This process keeps her a normal person and not become a crazy person . 3-Parallel realities may just be illusions that help the matrix hide. However, fate always brings Rover and Camel together not in parallel realities but in every life, every personality of Camel. No matter how long they are apart, they always meet again. 4-Camel is emotionless and doesn't care about anything, always acting on instinct. That helps her not to have to think, because the more she thinks, the sooner that day will come, and the shorter the time camel will exist in this world. And of course she didn't know that, maybe her instincts told her so.

Honestly, I personally didnt have problem with F.Rover VA... I think the reason why she was more "emotionless" in this one was because she was more annoyed (the "I was trying to help you get up" voiceline for example)with Camellya rather than surprised/scared... ...Which honestly in my opinion fits with Rovers background more since when I imagine Rover, I see her as this "long-living, rational being that has been a wise leader of a whole organization" (As she is depicted in the story and her backstory), so in my mind, it fits Rover more to be "less like a human"...and I think the EN VA is intentionally going for that, because we know for a fact that she can make pretty good emotional Rover impression (1.3 quest and re-voiced 1.0 is a good example)

About the age thing: Not only resonators in generals don't age the same way normal people do (they're superhumans after all). But she also has a forte that is connected to life by itself, she easily could just not biologically age past the moment of her awakening. Especially considering that she doesn't remember anything before petalfall village, so we don't really know how old is she.

so this is the story : Camellya overclock and she seal all the tacet discord in the cave then rover save her and rover has to make her blackshore member cuz she freaky and can overclock at anytime . Then Rover decide to leave and start from zero so camellya confused abt that ( camellya at this time is rover companion and she saw rover as master /rival and she obbessed with rover power ) . So long after rover leave she started to overclock because overclock can cause by trauma and keep those memories abt the person she look forward a ,obbessed just make the overclocking get worse , so she also clear all her memories and in hope that fate will get them together again . Like all the different timeline that the Stellar Matrx shown . ( The one she was a shy girl and the one she was dead is a different timeline that the Stellar Matrix prediction ) . That the whole story , it about how they fate line together and they gonna find each other and their accepted to live this new life without memories , only by their instinct (which is the whole camellya character ) . Bonus : yeah Lady Flora is her other name .

​@@georgieegames I can understand the confusion but if you've played the Nanami story in PGR , this would make a lot of sense . By now anlot of people might have given their own explanation to you so if you still feel interested this might give you some answers. For 1 the timelines weren't real, they were simulated just like Gestalt simulated multiple futures of earth, Tethys keeps simulating multiple scenarios with slight changes to predict future disasters. The data of Lady flora was always in the system,so when we got separated from Camelliya, we were just going through multiple scenarios till we reached one that matched the current actual timeline. Camelliya would frequently spar with rover to went her urges of overlocking so it never really triggered but after Rover left , she just lost her opponent and others didn't fit to bill so it just made the overlocking worse, that's why it just made it worse. But yeah we didn't get too much back story which we will hopefully get in future with second companion stories.

Some have lore explanations like the Resonator's age but I do agree it could've been better to design them in a way that fits their age. Or that scene inside the stellar matrices producing confusing amalgamations of various versions of Camellyas. I'm also open about an organization like Black Shores hiring Camellya, a probable indifferent hedonist anti-hero who unintentionally does good things as a recruiter. To me it shows that the members must be truly capable and that the Black Shores is willing to go as far as Camellya goes because they take their job that seriously to the point that compromising by accepting someone as unhinged as Camellya is excused. I do agree on the Rover over-glazing and I'm warning you, the companion quests have plenty and this is because of the CBT feedback from China. They went from Chixia pointing a gun at the rover to now many characters glazing the rover albeit on a very few instances and not as significant and meaningful as Shorekeeper's. The testers seem to not want to see their waifus mad at the rover. It's an over-listening to feedback and over-changing issue which is the opposite to so many gachas. Lol. I have to say though, with some suspension of disbelief and the copium that they will explore the unanswered (pre-petalfall camellya arc), I still enjoyed it but only when I see it as it is and not what I wanted it to be. With that being said, please don't let anyone dissuade you from voicing your honest constructive criticism. You are the perfect person to voice such because you actually pay attention and love the game. You'll be surprised how rare CCs like you are in WuWa. Have a great day Ms. Georgie! i actually really liked this quest. it lets us see rover as someone who was really strong but still had to start over because even he couldnt do everything by himself. and camellya isn't glazing him in love like shorekeeper, but he was her companion and rival that she respected and treasured. she didnt want to end up as a husk of herself by the time he returns as that, to her, was worse than being dead, thats why she decided that she'd rather forget everything. also she had absolute trust that no matter what she would somehow end up meeting rover anyway and enough faith in us to know that we would still be able to go toe to toe with her like we did in the past. also i can see why multiple timelines can be confusing. i think it only shows us what all could've been and that no matter what happened, camellya always ends up meeting us, either as a friend or an enemy, and sometimes a stranger. and i think the reason we dont see more of her current past is because its not the first time her memory has been wiped clean. we know that in the time she came to black shores her memory already got wiped clean again while she was looking into flora. it would be absurd if years of locked memories just all show up at once.

I don't know if you fully explore black shores or not, but there is a secret room and if you remember npc named "Hoda" in 1.3 story. You can find a note from Hoda when she joined black shores, in the first day join the black shores she somehow meet Rover and Lady Flora, they talk with her and play card together that night. Aalto said Hoda die in port city of guixu Lament a few hundred years ago, so my theory for now why Camellya and Lady flora still the same appreance right now, maybe it's because the same method Rover use to seal/delete the memories (the side effect that method).

From what I've gathered from Camellya's story, she is constantly Overclocking, and as a result, she ends up losing her memories constantly once the Overclocking settles down afterwards. Her life is basically a constant cycle of fight-Overclock-forget-repeat, but it was one she chose willingly because she decided to stop relying on her memories and instead on her instincts, hence her battlelust. Also, from what I have gathered, Camellya would often be sent to the medical pod whenever she Overclocks and while there, she seems to be subjected to various alternate outcomes of her past, with the only constant being her eventual joining/return to the Black Shores and meeting Rover (either passing each-other by as strangers or as enemies where she joins the Fractsidus). Which is also one of the reasons why she's obsessed with Rover and sees them as her "seed of fate".

Nice video :3 I think that what happens is that the game assumes that players remember terms from past quests, plus the narrative feels like this in purpose, they have shown that they can do some well done stories, but the point of this quest is that Camellya doesn't want to know her past cuz Overclocking Death risk, so we only know the events happen and Camellya did not get her full memories for that. Leaving it as she was a girl that was taken care for the village, village was invaded, Camellya tried to protect the people but some were killed, Rover came and saved them and she became a Bloom bearer, she is with strong people now so she wants to be better but her control of her Forte is bad cuz her memories and mental state is pretty bad, so better to know nothing and move for instinct. But we were indirectly at fault for what happened to her, we decided to lose our memories so her coping dependence was destroyed if even the strongest person you know leaves you, even if it's for a better future because Camellya is Weak, that means we will see some Camellya character development in the future. Anyways, the games is just starting and there are Speculations that 2.0 will be on January and if they are not telling much, they might try to include the characters later on and develop them. Hope everything goes great and that next quests focus a bit more on open knots.

1:01:00 If I understand correctly, people didnt know/remember her because when was Camellya still "Lady Flora", she looked (and acted) like that version of her with long hair in one of the alternate timelines (the one she didnt overclock in)...Camellya got these thorns, hair and crazy personality that we know her for as a result of her overclocking in the village in the "real" timeline. Alot of things in both the 1.3 and Camellya story were pretty confusing for me, but once I watched it multiple times, I did realize that the story does make sence, its just that alot of the conversations the we have at the start of the quests give context to things to come later in the story...the problem is that I had to watch the story at least twice to realize "Oh yeah, they did explain it, I just forgot this random conversation that didnt seem important to remember..." To be honest, in the moments like these, I wish we had something like Paimon in WuWa to remind us everything, because its impossible to keep the track of everything said in one playthrough...

actually im getting used to wuwa storytelling and i kinda like it, feeling lost for half of the quest and trying connect the dots makes the quest more engaging for me, while on genshin i play on the "auto pilot", also Wuwa does a good job on make a summary at the end of the quest to connect all the dots. But i understand sometimes it gets too much to keep track specially when theres gameplay in between which makes harder to remember everything, they just need to find the perfect balance on their storytelling, not give away too much earlier but also not make everything too cofunsing until the end

I do like the engagement and solving things along the way alot... ...However I can see why some people might not like it...I do remember that some people already had problem with this in 1.3 which I, just like Camellya SQ, adored... I personally dont have a problem with and do like "connecting the dots", unfrotunately I am not everyone...Not everyone are like you and me and enjoy "connecting the dots"...alot of people will just say that "it doesnt make sence" or that "they are making things up along the way"... it's probably toxic irl, but this is fiction, and many people are enjoying this theme in fictions for some reason. You, know, like the meme, " i can fix her". As of the alternative timelines, I'd like to think the purpose of that is just to say, "whatever timeline or universe they are, they'd always meet in one way or another". Pretty understandable that people would think about "history of the character" since this is a companion quest. But that's just my take regarding the alternate universes shown in this quest. I guess the real history is what you somewhat understood: petalfall village attacked by TD, camellya overclocking, rover saving her and bringing her back to blackshores, rover decided to leave and erase memories, camellya decided to do the same as to prevent overclocking, years after, she wakes up rejoins blackshores. What wasn't probably explained fully in the quest was the line where "rover and lady flora was supposedly close" so that people can like her. her current yandere-type personally became what was strongly in-grained to people that that ended up being the reason they like her

Perhaps the reason why they told the story how they did is to signify that Camellya is unconcerned with her past? I mean, since this is a companion quest, perhaps they just wanted to show you how her general mindset on life is. The story really doesn't give players much of a reason to care about her, though, admittedly. Maybe just make us more curious about her character? Either way, the story animatics were interesting. I dunno, maybe they'd create a second character quest for her using skins or something, that might be something to look to. I really agree with you about the 'wanderer' bit, that sounds interesting. One thing about the nature vs. nurture thing. I think that the answer to your question could, in fact, be found in an alternative timeline part. First timeline: The tacet discords attack, and Camellya overclocks, becoming a danger to everyone around her. The tacet discords weren't a threat, Camellya became the threat. Thus, everyone in her village dies, and Rover finds her severely overclocked. It's likely amplified be due to her emotions about the entire village's deaths, leading to that severe of an overclock. I'm guessing the Camellya in that timeline may have died in the end, she certainly doesn't look very lively. The medical bed suggests otherwise, but that doesn't necessary mean anything, maybe she's smiling on her deathbed. Second timeline: Everyone survives. One thing to be noticed here is that she, in fact, didn't exactly know what her tacet mark did. Sure, she understood how to use it(maybe this was a plothole?) and showed it to Rover, but apparently she didn't know she was a resonator until people pointed it out? In this version, she's also a lot friendlier, grateful to the villagers for taking her in, but with an extreme curiosity about the outside world. She followed Rover for an adventure, I'm guessing. That's the vibe she's giving me. I'm guessing the 'power-hungry' part of her is more nature than nurture, since it was actually implied that she followed Rover because of their strength when they saved her. She's interested in becoming stronger and more powerful, but not obsessed with it. Third timeline: A mixture of the two. Now, I'm guessing that she ended up the way she did because of two factors. First: Some of the villagers survived. Second: Some of them died. Now, the thing is, here, it was ALSO mentioned that she overclocked, turning into a big tree. I am guessing that she did, in fact, become the threat- but the difference is, unlike the first time, Rover arrived early, though not as early to prevent all casualties. Now, this is where things become a bit more complicated. I am guessing that Camellya is largely obsessed with power because she hates herself. Within the story quest, she talks about how she 'hates weaklings, including herself.' Because of this, it could be inferred that she has large regrets. Have you ever heard the saying that the only thing more infuriating than getting last place is getting second? This is because you are so close to the goal, that you imagine all the what-ifs that could happen, and rethink, over and over, what you could have done better, became better, to just. Get that 'perfect' achievement. In here, Lady Flora did, in a way, achieve her goal. She saved villagers. However, she didn't save all of them. That could lead to self-hate-- 'What if I could be stronger? Then I could save all of them. Why couldn't they have been stronger? Then they wouldn't have died.' As a defensive method, she could be 'hating' on the weaklings due to a sort of projection: Because they were like her, and therefore, they, like her, can lose people they love. Now, the thing about Rover so far, is that they have NEVER lost someone they cared about. Sure, they lost their memories. But remember Shorekeeper's arc? There were many ways it could have ended: Rover gets assimilated, Shorekeeper gets assimilated, everyone dies, etc. Now, the thing is, Rover is strong enough to protect the people he cares about. Sure, there's General Jiyan, there's Yilan(?), there's a ton of people out there- but Jiyan had lost people to get where he is, Yilan practically lost her... well, spoilers. Rover is strong enough that when they act, there's little-to-no loss to those they care about. I think that Camellya isn't obsessed with power specifically, just the idea of being strong enough to 'do what she wants'-- in this case, maybe, save all the villagers in the past.

Of course, Rover likely had losses on their path to power, but Camellya hasn't seen that. Rover was already strong when they first met, and hasn't endured any massive losses during a time of WAR. Sure, there's soldiers, but Rover wasn't there. Camellya was there, and instead of being a savior, or helping people who cared about her, she became a burden that likely got rid of one threat but created another. For past Camellya, Rover is her look into the value of power, I guess you can say. And it doesn't help that it's likely in her blood to want power. Now, why wasn't Camellya different, when she got her memory lost? Well, first of all- she uses the name 'Camellya' and 'Lady Flora' interchangeably before her memory lost. She uses 'Lady Flora' because the VILLAGERS gave her that name. So, when she lost her memories, she doesn't feel connected to that name anymore, because the people who gave her the significance to that name is lost to her memories. As for why her name's still Camellya... Well, she likes flowers. She blooms Camellyas. I think that anyone who's lost their name and memories would give themselves a 'label' that connects to what she is. Her powers bloom Camellyas, and that sounds a lot freaking better than 'Vines.' So she's Camellya. Next: I have a feeling that Camellya's HOLD on her obsession with power was actually nurtured by the villagers. As in, her initial tendencies leans toward being power hungry, but because of the cooperation and love the villagers gave her, she's not fixated on it. She sees how the villagers rely on each other, and a community, therefore, she knows she's not alone, and doesn't need to focus on becoming the most powerful or whatnot. But the death of some of her villagers sent a shock through her system, which kickstarted her path to 'ultimate power.' I'm guessing that during the time before Rover's absence, they're working on this obsession, which all basically fell apart when Rover disappeared. Note: The reason why Camellya woke up in a cave somewhere she doesn't know is because she left the Black Shores after Rover left. I think that's what the stories imply, at least. So, she lost her memories away from the Black Shores, and woke up in a completely unknown place. This time, however, there are no kindly villagers to help her in the world. As could be obvious to say, the world of Solaris is dangerous. Tacet Discords everywhere, exiles who stick to their own groups, likely suspicious of outsiders(they have to be cautious to keep their own groups safe). She's an outsider in this world. There's no one to help her this time, so she has to journey on herself, relying on only herself. This does not help her see an alternative world where people cooperate to survive. Instead, she sees a world where only herself could be trusted. She has no history, which would be suspicious to villagers less kind than her own. Not to mention, there are those villages like in Scar's story- she could have ended up in one of those. Either way, no one is there to prevent her from going down the path of 'power is everything.'

Now, it's pure speculations, but maybe, because of this wandering phrase, her risk of overclocking caused her to lose something. After all, 'once overclocking starts, there's no reversing the cause,' is there? But she doesn't know she's overclocked before. So, she'd only look to her own weakness. 'Why am I so weak as to lose control of myself? Why could I not stop myself from overclocking the 'first'(not actual first) time?' Which, in turn, feeds into hunger for power. The thing is, once someone has lost something, they'd do anything to keep themselves from losing more, right? But if you've lost everything once already, and know that at any moment, you can lose things again, why not do things while you can? Why not live in the present? At any moment, all could be lost. 'All the more reason why I should just do whatever I want!' Which seems to feed into the 'follow your instinct' part of her. This, however, leads her down a similar, but not exactly same path of her previous descent to madness. As it was said by Camellya, her past self was 'overly sentimental,' stuck with power she could never achieve anything with, because what she wanted to achieve was something she could no longer get(the lives of the villagers, her community, her family). Future Camellya, however, lives in the present-- she may have lost something during her wanderings, but she learned a different lesson. Infinitely similar, but different. Moving onto the alternative timelines with Fractsidus, Wanderer, etc. I'm guessing these timelines are actually things that could have happened AFTER Rover left. She joins the Fractsidus, and then fights Rover. She becomes a wanderer, a Rover if you would, and never goes back to the Blackshores. She relates with the Fractsidus because they want power, not to mention, they are black sheep in a flock of white. She never joins any group, because she hasn't met the Fractsidus, perhaps missing them by chance, and becomes an outsider to everyone. However, in this timeline, she stumbled upon the Blackshores first, or something of the sort. She decides to stay because she has a chance to gain something she previously didn't have a chance to get back: Her memories. However, that fails, but she stays for some reason. For this part, I'm not sure, but I actually think it may be because of the Shorekeeper. Paying attention to the things she says about the Shorekeeper, it's actually likely that their relation is pretty close. She talks about Shorekeeper being a worrier a lot, and similar things like that. Now, is it possible that Shorekeeper knew Camellya as Lady Flora? She has been with Rover for a long time, after all. So when she sees this person, someone she knew, who lost her memories, she offered Camellya a harbor. After all, if the harbor extends to Rover, why would it not extend to someone who was previously friends with him? I suspect Shorekeeper has a soft spot for Camellya, thus, kinda indulging in her antics, and Camellya likewise listens to her a little. Now, the thing is, no matter how much a person wanders, they usually want an anchor. As it could be previously seen, Rover, at the time, was Camellya's anchor. She actually doesn't seem to want to drift afloat, so if she's offered a place, wouldn't she stay? Continuing on, while Camellya is certainly battle-crazed and power hungry, it can also be noted that she does, in fact, feel responsible as a 'leader' of some sort. So, it is entirely possible that because of an 'anchor,' her personality drifted a bit back toward before her memories were lost. However, I'm putting that on a shelf for now. For the 'reckless and crazy' part, yeah, maybe they shouldn't let a danger like her out. But which is more dangerous, keeping a hungry beast trapped, or letting them out so they don't explode? It could go either way, to be honest, but I'm guessing that the Blackshores think that as long as she doesn't get too out of hand, it could be alright? Or, it could just be a major plot hole. As for the 'randomly killing people part', It's actually never shown that Camellya kills the people she hunts in the trailer. If you've talked to the people around Blackshore, you'd see that she's actually an exam proctor. Basically, she's in charge of whether the people make it into the Blackshores or not. She probably gave the people in the trailer a fright, but I really don't think she actually killed anyone- or, she wouldn't have been let out. Now, yeah. Her attitude toward Rover-who-lost-their-memories is really bad, so I've got nothing for that. It could be a defense mechanism, but it's still not exactly okay.... It's like they are recording at home without any instructions on the tone direction... meanwhile Camellya's VA was so good it made me switch from JP back to EN just to hear her on that dub, she did an amazing job. In Camellya's companion quest, acting like Camellya was the only one there really improved my enjoyability of the quest lol. As for how rover acts, some of it definitely makes no sense even putting yourself in their shoes, kinda feels like the devs were pushing for an instant connection for the simps. Camellya is also illogical, but at least she puts reason behind her unreasonableness, restating in several different ways how she listens to instinct above all else, she doesn't really care that much about others or the black shores, it's just the black shores missions give her an out to fight people and find "her seeds." I honestly like F.Rover being less emotional as it makes me feel like she is this "rational, leader of an organization and a long-living being that simply does not show emotions that much anymore" instead of being just as emotional as a human...so it makes me feel it fits her background better. But thats probably just my preference... Edit: Actually just noticed, majority of 1.0 F.Rover voicelines were re-recorded and sound great...I honestly think why in Camellya Story quest F.Rover soundes so "emotionless" was rather because it seemed she was more annoyed by Camellyas behavior rather than surprised...like the "I was trying to help you up" voiceline for example (considering that they met already and Rover knew what kind of person she is)

We learn now that something in her past was so tragic it always cause her to overclock thinking on it. I think what many players fear it being not enough is because its the fear of what if they dont get any more stories and each only has 1 companion story qeust 😊

I told myself to take this quest more as a prologue for the future to keep the brainrot in check. Basically to me, Shorekeeper is more flashed out because it was a main story quest. Character quests are shorter, so I am hoping we will get a continuation for this. I found it pretty cool, but I do wish we had more info on the current Camellya or have more time to spend with the real past her. I think Camellya was living in Blackshores when she's a child. Then moved to petalfall village and lived there for 20 years. After the fall of petalfall village, she was found in a cave near Blackshores. Thats how Rover meet her. So i think she's still in her 20s.

I actually enjoyed this quest (not my favorite in the game, but i did enjoy it) and after watching your review i see the faults and misses which is a good thing because you're right, they could have done a lot more with this character. I honestly think that from the beginning Kuro recognized that she was a fan-favorite character and they just decided to lay into that heavily. Also, I'm glad you mentioned that it makes way more sense for her to be a part of the Fracstitus because i noticed that early on and havent seen too many people mention it which i think is kind of weird because it's so obvious lol.

When you are using her, i great combo for her is 3-4 consecutive basic attacks followed by a heavy attack because when you perform the heavy attacks that way it manifests as a continued rapid fire attack that hits like a machine gun. It also works like an auto parry as well similar to Jiyan’s ult state.

Camellyas quest was very understandable to me. I don't know what part could have been confusing. I do however think that Camellyas story needs a bit of elaboration. Is she also a higher grade being similar to Rover ... how else has she been able to be a constant in Rovers many lifetimes.

There is small detail in 1.3 hidden quest that tells many members of Black Shores doesn't really talk to Camellya since she is always with Rover, and Rover themselves always shrouded with mystery so maybe thats why not many remembers her. The quest is just okay imo, after Encore nothing can hit as hard again

I like that we learned more about overclocking and what it can do to a persons psyche, the struggle between herself at the end was done well I feel, as far as I know, what the Rover did in the 20 years after leaving the black shores is still unknown, and I’m sure it will be answered soon. As for her obsession, I don’t think it’s romantic, more chasing after a mentor, being obsessed with her saviour, as we see, there is a little bit of what felt like over reliance, or deifying of the rover, fear of being weak and pitiful, never wanting to experience that again, what with the repeated overclocking and memory wiping probably twisted her up a little, her instincts remaining as Camellya stated. That obsession seems to plague her. (You’ll never be her equal, ever. For example.) Aging…it’s unclear, but I vaguely recall something about resonators aging differently than others, so that could be a solution, not sure how to address her maintaining her personality, but if she disregards her memories, choosing not to indulge in them in favour of keeping her instincts, and following them and her need to find the Rover…I think it could be hand-waved. That said, it was a little hard to follow on a first run through, seeing it again from fresh perspectives was helpful for me, I thought it was quite good, but I get it if people default to the “waifu bait” and “harem” thing, but I wanted to look deeper than that. I agree that Camellya's quest could've been so much more. The music arrangement and the atmosphere are so good that I spent like 2 minutes idling just to vibe along on the camelia bridges (I really hope the devs includes more scenes like this it definitely suits wuwa's apocalypse vibes I was in LOVE). But yeah it does feel like a huge jigsaw puzzle with few pieces misplaced. Imo, Rover doesn't even need to thread through the alternate timelines before fighting the huge birdie, and instead keep the scenes as recorded timelines saved in the Tethys System (if it is capable of simulation, it SHOULD be able to save some records, right?) and play them after they are done with the climax match. Then it would hold more significance to what we could've had had we not walked down the "present" path after. Either that or it could've been in this arrangement: the bad end Camellya first, correct alternate timeline Camellya, then good end Camellya. Then again, I think the current path is mostly based on the way Camellya's perspective works (arrangement is insignificant, the outcome or reason is). But that could've been more impactful if Camellya's chaotic/instictual POV and Rover's logical POV are more structured (instead of tossing POV's between the two). It would've made the "present" more oomph to the scene iykwim Btw I love that you voice act Rover's dialogues. It's more fitting to Camellya's quest lol (please keep voicing Rover's dialogues I beg you)

from what i understand the cycle of lady fiora has already been happening before the current camellya. so basically, she started somewhere prone to overclocking, meet rover, overclocking subsides but still present> try to find solution> find past memories instead> overclocking worsens part 2> berserk or slumber so basically, lady fiora discovered that whatever happened, she will always overclock and lose rover, her only comfort. so she gambled instead of forgetting, sealing her memories/personality might provide a better outcome. aand it did but the side effect would be technically, lady fiora is dead and the camellya right now is just a body that acts what the body wants, not based on what she thinks or feel current camellya thought process body reacts = fun body not reacting = boring

Worries like the one I timestamped if serious enough can really be a cause for regretful pulling. This interaction timestamped made me think that Camellya could have a severe developmental disability. She acts very childlike with her forwardness, language and physicality. About the Camellya's aging or lack thereof. There's an explanation for this. In 1.1, Jinhsi happened to talk about the aging of resonators. It was implied that resonators live longer than non-resonators(i believe she mentioned some resonators living for centuries). TLDR: Resonators have a long lifespan.

Good one. Personally I felt like the information being given to us was purposely fragmented, just like Camellya. Being obsessed and attracted to someone who's not gonna love you back the same way you do was definitely the theme. It's a tough spot to be in like Rover which is why he/she was so lost but they definitely didn't want to lose her as they believe people are not just tools. I think if this quest came before Shorekeeper's quest, it would have had a bigger impact on us. Like why isn't Rover feeling anything for Camellya. I do think Camellya's past will be explored again, if only because we know she has lost her memories before meeting the Rover as well as after. There's mysteries about her powers too, as in one timeline she states she awakened them *after* going berserk in that village but that would imply her turning into a plant is a separate thing. But for her quest the takeaway is that her past doesn't matter all too much because she has chosen to forget about it. Though initially she did so to avoid the suffering of losing the Rover. In the end after seeing that no matter what, the Rover and her will meet again someway, somehow, it suits her to simply focus on the present. Honestly her past feelings for the Rover read like unrequited love. But in the present they seem to understand each other more even if the peek the Rover took into her past is small. An interesting observation to make is that Camellya struggles with emotions, and she did even before she chose hedonism. For example writing off her decision to protect the villagers as "why not" when she probably did care for them. Now in the present barely comprehending why her past self was desperate over the fear of loneliness. Perhaps even if she is still obsessed with them, her relationship with the Rover is healthier without the emotional baggage and that is why she'd rather focus on the fact she cares about them rather than try to remember why.

It's been stated before that resonators can live longer than normal human beings. Wouldn't be surprised if their lifespan is also affected by their powerlevel, though there's no confirmation about that. As for the timeline. Rover erased her memories and "disappeared" over 20 years ago. Camellya did the same soon after that. She woke up a decade ago. Camellya basically was unconscious in the cave for a decade after erasing memories. Then she traveled around and ended up back on the Black Shores. The 10 year time-gap is not that surprising. 1.3 story basically confirmed after all that even Rover took almost 20 years to wake up after erasing her memories. She's a blank slate who has had even less of a time to develop a personality than Camellya. As for the order of going through the timelines. Beatrice told us we need to find the correct time line. If we had got to the correct one first, we wouldn't have needed to see any of the alternative timelines at all, would have made the story quite much more bland. Why is Camellya at the Black Shores? Because her strength and usefulness outweighs the negatives. I think it's simple as that. I think with Camellya it's more about hungering for fights and powerful fighters and fun of fighting. So Rover being pretty much the undefeatable demigod of this world is obviously her #1. It's not hard to find her following just rumors from this mysterious hero who keeps saving the world. I don't feel like it's "romanticising" it really, she just has this twisted battle maniac mentality and finding an exceptionally strong person twists it into an obsession. The EN voice acting is a really mixed bag, lol. Some are just awful. Rover has always been stoic and flat as hell, while some are amazing, like Yinlin, Camellya and Shorekeeper. This was my 2nd favorite companion quest after Changli. It was not perfect but still liked it. It's just a case of "it could have been so much better", just like almost everything in the story so far.

Team Camellya here 😁! Wonderful coverage as always! I thought the story was pretty good but you raise some fair points about the writing. There are lore points in story like SK mentioning some stuff about cami in her lines and the heron does have some lore relevance in regards to bossfight, etc. But I find its important to bring them up in story itself when relevant cause most of us won't read every lore tidbit. Hopefully kuro takes some points from here. I agree the rover is a bit too indifferent at first at least kek, but as for cami's personality- I think that's just her. She can't be different, she's screwed up in the parts of her memory that can't be sealed, fated to end up like that and the odd one out (most of us thought she was Fractidus). For me, she's perfect written that way vs UwUmellya 😁. She do likely be pretty darn hag tho in terms of age, she's 40 min if they she knew rover from 15-20 but we'll need to see how they handle rover's past in discussion around this for now.

Just a suggestion, dont buy 80 straight away "the pull items". You can pull it @10pcs directly which will consume your asterite 1600 (160/item) So you can put your asterite for another purpose like her signature weapon, you wont waste your asterite. I would personally changed her story to: camellya was born in a small village and in childhood she had her awakening forte, but her forte instead of helping her or being something useful it was a problem for her because it had bad effects on her body, for example plants grew from random places on her body and they were toxic so they hurt her health and body but because her forte is connected to plants she can't die because when something kills her she is reborn more painfully like a plant, she once heard about someone who can kill and get rid of thranodians so she thought she would find this person and maybe they would be able to help her and kill her so that she wouldn't be reborn, after some time she found rover and told him about her problem he promised to help her and recruited her to blackshores, but then rover unexpectedly disappeared, after 20 years of torment she gets an order to watch rover from trouble, she meets him but when she talks to him it turns out it turns out that he lost his memory and doesn't have the same power as before and doesn't remember the promise, rover takes care of things in blackshores he meets camellya, she is already in a bad condition she has problems with memory, emotions, overclocking and has an obsession with rover because he is her only hope for experiencing peace (even when hope may be illusory) it turns out that when rover takes her life she keeps being reborn then he helps her get back together and promises to help her in another way, it would also introduce that forte can also harm the resonator and isn't really something "cool" to have

For me, I kind like the quest. I did assume Rover probably was not from the same timeline but what you see is an alternate so there was nothing to confuse about but I understand if you confuse. What you see all her alternate version was she always meet up with Rover. Every path she choose there will always Rover to guide her to the right path. Which mean different timeline, diifferent personality. For the VA for MC, I use male rover so it was okay. For this companion I will give 7/10. I enjoyed it but I hope it can be more well made.

I have to say that after listening to your points, I must agree to the fact that the story could have been better. I found myself at some parts of the story where I had to ignore some questions about what was happening to be able to enjoy the read and the moment. I suposse they just really wanted to go for the wife yandere route without to much deepness to it, imagine all the good stuff if they did even more. Right now I just hope that maybe in the future, they may have her evolving more (we can aways dream right ?) Btw I love her playstyle I lot, first character that I got with the weapon 👍

I feel like the majority of points that led to your dissatisfaction is mostly due to them having Camellya being connected to future main story plot points that they dont want to reveal yet which is a bit disappointing. I personally loved the quest, but maybe they could have waited til further in the story to do her quest. I personally have a theory that they were created by the same entity or same type of entity, but who knows how far in the future we will have to wait til they drop more info about camellya's past before the village.

@@shadowswarm9996 that's fair enough, I would say my issue is also that I wish they had actually given us MORE about this previous connection between rover and her aka the friendship they shared etc instead of these "alternate" realities that don't apply to our current characters. I think yes there will be future things to do with them but I think some stuff they could have at least acknowledged to put the question in our minds of oh they will explain this later. But it's just my opinion, I am glad you enjoyed this quest though, a lot of people did and it did have some good stuff going for it :)

they should've just went full dark mode with her backstory. made like the overclocked version of camellya a boss fight. the companion quest is confusing need to get her intimacy up to actual get a better feel of her so far from what i unlocked it seems that she retained some of her memories and is just keeping it from rover. also that she feels no connection to the 'lady flora' of the past.

I enjoyed the quest. I feel like its way more clear cut then people are expecting it to be, especially you surprisingly since you play Limbus or any of the other project moon games. Yes, I realize they're completely different games but I think its just confusing on how its hard to understand something that they've laid out for you. Is there a lot of loose threads that weren't explained fully? Yeah, but I mean realize we're also on 1.4 and there's a LOT that has yet to be explained, ffs we only just are getting hard focused in on Rover's past with all the Black Shores content.

I got her R3 and sig weapon by sheer luck 😂 Regarding her companion quest, its one of those quest that you need to let it simmer down first and connect the dots with what you have. But the basics are she runs on instinct so nothing she does gonna make sense. Maybe her voicelines and 'more about' section in her characther screen would help. From what i gather, she's a recruiter with specific requirements. Strength, battle iq and resolve ( could be more ) but she have hard time holding back herself when she found a 'promising seed'. To me, she did come across strong recruits. Maybe the ones she hand picked are playable so they didn't mention anything or are already in a faction like the fractsidus. In the end, its up to the players interpretation since it is a live service game. They can very well make another camellya quest. Who knows. Its kuro, they will listen.

the q is confusing but to put it simple: camellia has a deep connection to the memoris and you dont. thats why you`re got seperated to cach up you need to know more about her. for thatyou use the supercomputer tp simulate the past, but the comp sims many posible outcomes so you need to find the one that resolted in the present so you how arond potential past`s looking for the real one

Also, the pacing felt off, like towards the end it felt rushed telling us about she meeting us even as fracitus, didnt really go into living her past. Idk they set the expectations so high, it was a decent quest i guess

I got Camellya in 1 ten pull, but I think I was close to my 50/50. I will probably try going for her weapon before going for copies. I dont think i have ever made it to a guarantee in a gatcha game, and i have never lost a 5 star on a banner. However, I have only ever gotten 5 5-star characters from limited banners out of the like 6 or 7 gatcha games I am currently playing. i wanna comment, but disclaimer: i missed a lot, so my understanding might be scuffed. What I gather from this story are: - We don't know where she came from exactly, she might or might not have hailed from Petalfall Village. She's probably an immortal being, almost in the leagues of Rover and SK (this is told to me, I missed this completely in the story and when I watched you playing it because I... watched you while playing a game myself LOL). - I think Lady Flora was a biiiiiiiiiiit more melancholic than Camellya. - Why she is obsessed with power and with Rover (who is powerful) was not explained, but I accept it as just her "mold", so to speak. Similar to how we don't question why Yangyang is softspoken and Chixia is energetic. - Rover-SK feels like master-retainer (I'm not shipping them, so I'm not seeing them in romantic light) with so much love and care between them, and we can see why SK is so devoted to Rover. But Rover-Came is like bros where one could steal the other's pudding from the fridge, not feel bad about it, and will smugly say, "Yeah, it was me who ate the pudding." when confronted. And Lady Flora unhealthily tied her reason for existence to Rover that she was so stressed Rover decided to leave and not "play" with her anymore, probably because no one else could spar with her the way Rover did. So like, bros with attachment issues ig. Hearing you rant at the end surprises me with how I agree with many things you said, but also disagree because of the things I wrote up here. I'm giving this story 8/10, the only thing I dislike is the fanservice, but I've resigned myself to accepting that it's just an integral part of this type of game.

We're having too much peak lately. This is one of those stories that really can be called a filler patch. Story telling is still good but the story plot is shaky. Alternate timelines show that Camellya and Rover are really destined to meet each other. Their past only shows so short and that camellya is really into rover and just cant live without him/her and will overlock so she chose to lose her memory. I thought its lackluster but because of the story telling i gave it a passing grade. I agree with your takes.

Her design and potential were so cool and I was hoping we’d get a story that fleshed out a more rivals narrative like Zenos’ obsession with the main character in ffxiv. But instead they tried to force her into a waifu role that she was just not meant to play. She’s a psycho who wants to fight the rover, not be her friend. So much missed potential. I understand the confusion you're having, but in my opinion Before Petalfall village Camellya had to have known Rover but they deliberately didn't tell or show us that, otherwise why would Rover comes to that village to stop Camellya's overclocking problem? unless they knew her and knew how to deal with it! The second thing is, i feel like you had this idea that Camellya is a evil or bad person but i'll blame her trailer for showing her like that or the illusion of that. She actually haven't hurt anybody physically as far as we saw her and even in the trailer she just subdued her opponents except the last one. We didn't see what she did to her maybe knocked her out or perhaps killed her since she's in her red crazy over clocked form, it is hard to tell really. Like Imagine, there's a kpop celebrity and there are fangirls who are obsessed and went on stage to hug the celebrity in a crazy way and then the security had to step in to take them off stage. In this particular example, the Celebrity is Rover, the crazy fans are the red Camellya and the security is the normal White Camellya. Well the celebrity can be anybody who's strong and as much as Camellya have the urge to have them as opponents she'd still reign herself in from doing so. Also, the fact that she remained looking the same age has multiple possibilities. One, is that Resonators have a longer life span or they age slower than normal people. that has been said in the early story already. the other possibilities is that she is connected to Rover somehow just like Jue, Shorekeeper and probably others. And those beings are not normal, Shorekeeper being none human or made by Rover from a crystal or something of the sorts. Jue being a literal dragon, Tethys System being a Ai super computer and so on... The memory of Camellya part. here's what i think. Someone like Lady Flora is capable enough to be able to "Seal" her memories away that leads me to understand one thing. She can select exactly what sort of memories to lock down. She has a thing for Rover specifically, "Love" in this case and she wanted to seal those particular memories away. Locking these memories of Rover specifically away doesn't equal she's formatting her entire knowledge and behavior. Since she's capable of sealing some memories that means she can leave some alone, and that's what she calls "Instincts". It's like she know that she wants to be obsessed with Rover but she doesn't know exactly why. Lady Flora specifically "sealed" the "Why" here. Same with Rover, Rover sealed some of her memories, but she still behave exactly the same way she always did in the past, that's why Jue and Shorekeeper never felt something off with Rover. Someone like Shorekeeper knows what Rover has sealed but she actively said she can't tell what it is. So, ultimately sealing memories doesn't change a person completely as you are imagining because they definitely can select what information to hide somehow. Lastly, I think the reason they were showing us the different time lines is to make us understand that no matter what happen to Camellya or Rover, they are connected and will find each other somehow in the end. Tethys System most likely was showing them these simulations by generating Camellya's informations and behavior and simulating it to other possibilities "timeline" because if you remember we had to collect these items with Camellya at the beginning of the quest. These Timelines never happened in their actual time. its probably Tethys System ( or Kuro ) is being sneaky to show them ( us ) some hints. Ofc im not trying to force you to accept whatever im saying. I'm just sharing my own opinion on how i understood the story. BUT they definitely could've done the story differently. I personally enjoyed it as it is.

this story was weird. for what i read somehow first camellya's village all the people die and camellya overclock. but its like the universe was reset and some people survived, and camellya was saved from overclock. after that the rover goes away and lose his memories.🤨🤔🤨

It is a “side” quest and not a “main” quest. So, yeah… That doesn’t mean, they’ll just leave at that. They’ll probably save another quest for her overclocking in the future main quest 🤔 Where we actually find a cure for “overclocking” in general and then, and only then. We’ll go back to Camellya issue and cure her…But we’ll see. The game is still “new” and we’ll only get new storylines atm, until we start going back to past character stories that felt “empty”.

The problem with the voice acting is that the actors dont know the context for the majority of the lines. Thats why rovers va sounds flat. Its not the vas fault, its a direction issue.

I agree, I was a bit disappointed in the direction the story went. I feel as though there was so much potential and there were bits of story in the quest that were so interesting like her joining fractidus or her time in the village before rover that i wanted to learn more about, rather than seeing alternate timelines. They focused on the wrongs aspects of her character and oh my god she was so intense. Was waaaay too sexually and weird. There's the groundwork for a really compelling story, but again i think the focus was on the wrong things

I agree, overall this companion quest very disappointing compared what Kuro did lately, it does have good moments but still disappointing... For me the multiverse thing kind of unecessary and it feels like they can just explore multiverse possibilities easily (not to mention use communication device even though they might call this multiverse as mere simulation of possibilities instead if actual another universe)... If Rover leave BS around same time lady Flora disappeared then it's only 20 years passed which kind of match with estimation time Changli's master meeting him/her but tbh i expect Rover last seen many more years ago (about 50 or 100 or many more years ago)... I also agree someone as uncontrollable as Camellya too dangerous to be let roam, the trailer actually told me what i need to know about how easily Camellya kill someone without care (even though that woman killed was an exile and Danjin might have more exile body counts despite being a patroller)... i believe SK actually disagree Camellya join but since Rover approve then SK didn't object out of blind faith, or maybe because actually SK much stronger than Camellya and can do what necessary in case Camellya become a threat...

I think EN translators wanted her to become a waifu. They did this in Shorekeeper story too. CN, JP had very different writings in some parts.
