Awesome video. I like the fact that even a smaller hatchet can cut through large wood with a little help. Looking forward to your next video.

It's meant to be used as a replacement for your survival knife, whilst keeping q backup knife like a Mora Kansbol/Garberg/Companion or Robust. It could replace a Ka-Bar Becker 22

Very cool, I need a good hatchet. I’m gonna start shopping around pretty soon to find one that suit me. I’ll have to keep this in mind. Your gonna have to do a, “ name the stump” when you get a new one. 😆

Get the Bear Grylls version for one reason. Orange handle. Easy to spot if you lay it down. Check out the SOG Survival Hawk. Full Tang sog tomahawk. Cold Steel Wood handle Tomahawks are great. CRKT Nobo or Chogan wood handle tomahawks are great too. Also check out Les Stroud's Vigor Axe it's full Tang design axe. Its a beast.

@@brianmccann666 The Bear Grylls version barely has any orange color to it and is more expensive due mostly to the Bear Grylls name. Could get this cheaper hatchet and attach an orange and/or reflective tape around the handle or an orange/reflective lanyard on it. The Bear Grylls one is also larger and heavier, not by much, but just something to take into consideration based in personal needs.

Joe X couldn't break the Estwing camper axe. Do I think this one is better than an estwing? Estwing weighs 2 oz more. So, the weight difference is not relevant. Estwing full tang shank is obviously stronger. Price are the same, in fact I can find bargains on the Estwing.

I picked up the bear grils version of this a long time ago before it was lame. It's a good bit thinner then this but it's one of the best I ever used for a small pack hatchet and I collect a lot of hatchets and use them . It did come razor blade sharp but it chops great and carves like a knife making it a great tool . I think I could process a deer with it easy because it's like a cleaver but smaller and easier to handle. I also have the Gerber gator with the knife in the handle and that one is a lot Tougher to use because of how it attaches to the handle. Great review.

I joined as EOD. Then they denied my top secret clearance... So I became a Bradley mechanic. Which, in Iraq was just a glorified humvee mechanic lol. Only time we broke out the brads was when putting up the barriers in Sadr city, getting attacked every fucking time we went out. We used to joke that we were combat mechanics. But really we kinda were.

I would just look at all kinds of reviews before you buy something even then there’s still a chance you’ll get something faulty
