Hey, great video and good work ! I'm in the process of making a tailor-made plan using the same design because in addition to being French and therefore not having the same measurements, I have little space in the room to do exactly the same as you. Tell me, is it easily movable when fully assembled ? Or is it better to put a rug underneath to move it and have access to all the drawers ? aha I hope you understand the question. Thank you 😊
@gerberdesignco6 ай бұрын
Thank you! It is definitely not easy to move when it’s fully assembled. I would definitely put a rug under to make it easier to move if needed.

Thanks for putting this video together. I'm curious how heavy the side drawer boxes are when bring them in. I was thinking that since you don't see the top or bottom of the side boxes, that you could replace those 3/4" panels with a rectangular frame made from 2x4's to save weight while keeping strength. The sides and divider of the frame would still be 3/4" plywood so you could attach the drawer slides to them. Then finally, I'd use 1x4 furring strips as slats that would be supported by the 2x4 frame. I figure that would also save a bit of money since almost all of your plywood is hidden behind face frames and the mattress. Any reason the frame idea wouldn't work?
@gerberdesignco Жыл бұрын
That’s a super smart idea. I think that would definitely work. I know that if I ever remake this style I would do some things differently. Using 1x4s for slats is definitely on the top of my list. I appreciate the comment. 👍🏼

Do you have an instructions guide and supplies list for this bed frame build? Im looking to make this bed. 😁
@gerberdesignco6 ай бұрын
I don’t I’m sorry. I just made the video. I think it was 3 sheets of 3/4” plywood 6 drawer slides About 3 or 4 1x8x10 boards for the face frames and drawer fronts. I would but bed slats instead of using 2x4s like it did. I’ve since added the bed slats and it’s way better. And 6 drawer pulls. But I would also not add those. I would cut out finger grooves instead. Save your ankles 😂😂

Can I ask why you would use bed slats instead of the wooden frames? Are they not as comfortable. I want to build the same but I wanted to use the frames instead but if it's not as comfortable, then I'll just use the slat. Any advice?
@gerberdesignco Жыл бұрын
No real reason. This was the first time I made something like this. If I were to make it again I would probably change those things.

hey man what was the piece u put in the very back where the head board at @ 7:38 time stamp
@gerberdesignco7 ай бұрын
It was just a 1/2” piece of plywood hold each box in place. It isn’t necessary tho. I would also recommend just buying bed slats and screwing them to the rest of the bed frame.

What do you mean by 25 board feet of 4/4 poplar in the supplies list?
@gerberdesignco Жыл бұрын
Hardwood is usually sold by the board foot. So it’s the Length + the thickness off the material to ge the price. But if you go to Home Depot they sell it in linear feet. I’m sorry I don’t really know how to explain it well via text.
