I really like how the rear 4th turret barrels go up and over that part of the ship rather having to swing the entire turret clear around... PE Friedrich doesnt

The terrain has colliders so a simple raycast would be enough to check for a collision in the torpedo vector.

The better guns do help from the Zeiten on. Rupprecht has been my favorite ship to play since I nabbed it. Definitely do need IFHE though, but she holds her own even in uptiers. its an amazing ship

Fun fact: Gneisenau and Scharnhorst are actually on different secondary dispersion tables. They're only about 90% as accurate as their T8+ counterparts, and for unknown reasons. This was true as of about July 2021 or so, so unless it's been fixed, it's still present in game. That said, a lot of these bugs I've discovered over the years are slowly getting fixed.

You are going to really love the Zieten. That ship has 10k torps, good guns (only 6 but they hit hard and are accurate with very fast reload, with very good secondaries) it’s very fast, quite tanky (it has only 1k less health than the tier 9 Prince Rupprecht) Prince Rupprecht is also a blast but it is extremely weak on health having lower hit points than many cruisers and many lower tier 8 BB’s but it can put out huge damage numbers and is a real threat. You have to learn to engage and disengage. My first day with it saw 2 krakens in my first 8 games. But now people know what’s coming and they make a real effort to stay outside of those secondaries. This thing can melt down an Iowa in mere seconds pining it from stem to stern. Go all in on offensive choices with Lutjens and forget fire protection skills and extra heals, they don’t matter much in the end, kill things before they can kill you is what works. One of my best games was on open ocean map if you can believe it. I saw a bunch of bb’s all moving in a slow clump (2 collided in the open sea lol) and sailed in and sank them all with torps, guns and 2nds blazing. BB’s standing still or going slow can be pre-torped from 12k out knowing where you are going to end up fighting them and where they will try to kill you. The most frustrating thing fighting this ship is watching following teammates hiding behind you wait to kill something you have been cutting down for 70 seconds. Teammates think you’re going to die and don’t show back up until you’ve cut everyone’s health pool down. After 200 battles I have a 59%-win rate (and still increasing) in random with the PR and they are all brawls, I could never get above 52% in my Massa or Georgia. I have a 21-point Lutjens on it but preparing a 21-point Jutland for it when Schlieffen comes out because keeping an eye out for torps is mandatory in these ships (the Schlieffen will get Lutjens). I’m looking forward to the Schlieffen because it has faster firing guns, bigger guns, more secondaries and most of all because unlike the step

I love these German Battlecruisers. I managed to get to tier 7 as well. I am looking forward to more Videos about Von der Tann, Moltke, Derfflinger and Mackensen and maybe about some of the higher Tiers as well

Renember Emergency Heal also gets you another damage con. If you're finding the games are over quick I'd def. take that over FP since the extra dmg con is likely to save you as much damage as FP anyway, and you get the extra heal/longer heal for free.

I did the grind bit until i hit the tier 6 ship then I something similar to what you did and converted everything I could into German tokens and then went and used my wallet for the last 2 ships. But out of the last few times I opened my wallet for this game at least this time I like what I got for it. These new ships are really strong and really fun to play.

T9 is REALLY nice, guns are a lot more comfortable to play and secondarys are really on crack with IFHE :D Even the weird looking T8 is quite strong ;) The T9 Prinz Rupprecht is one of my favorite ships in the game right now, I have over 400k XP on it already^^ Had a 7 kill game where my secondarys did over 100k damage^^

I have been playing the Prince Ruprecht, you are going to love that. And from what I am seeing the Schlieffen is pretty awesome. The dilemma I am seeing is what ship I will like better, the Schlieffen or the Preussen.

Schlieffen looks like it's going to be a Super Hindenburg of a sort. Trading DPM and HE spam for alpha and a powerful secondary suite to create a close range brawling expert. Preussen is probably just gonna be a harder hitting Kurfurst.

I'm not a huge fan of the 17km main gun range on this ship. I can see this line being pretty fun though at higher tiers. Looking forward to trying the T8-T10.

Pick ERE instead of CE. The goal is to get close and brawl, so you will get detected anyways by CV or DDs/subs. You can use islands to get close that you always mentioned, but in some brawling situations let's say a Conqueror fires a salvo from 20+ km and starts double or even triple fire right after you use DCP if you are without FP, that is frustrating.

yeah, allthough i only have the tier 6 new german bb mackensen, i play the old german bbs without CE, too. I think you get spotted anyway and if you try to run away there is still something that going to spot you. In my last games i was happy to get a fifth heal, to get some extra hp but because i did not use my concelment to use my secondaries i overcomitted less and so i had better brawls. I tried it after PQs videos with the GK :)

CE is pointless, you will always be spotted by something anyway and as you are up close can't use it to escape.

One thing I've been curious about is why you take reload expert over extra fire chance? You never seem to change your ammo type so it just looks like a massive waste of a point.

I am having so much fun with the Mackensen. The t5 and below are a bit hard work but that hydro really opens up opportunities and I feel like T6 is the first tier where you get to start abusing the secondaries even with my current 8 point captain.

Fire Prevention honestly isn't needed with the Fast DCP. The extra Heal/DCP and improved Concealment are sufficient and I think you'll find more competitive.

I doubt they will give it hydro. I have both, and if I am not mistaken, the Mackensen pays for the hydro with less main and secondary range than the P.E.F.

Nah. They got way better armor which is super important for brawling. And Gneisenaus guns actually can pen things. PQ might be excited atm. But what i saw was he pushing in with a ship that cant really tank but has to push to make its secondaries work. And the results might ve been fun but no special numbers. People are quick to cry out because of powercreep. But what most of them overlook in this case is that the new german BCs lack the most important strength of the BBs and thats the tankieness.

Charge in with your Heinrich as support for your DD's ..... your secondary's do the enemy DD's like grass so this is a game starter that kills their eyes. The Iron Thumb?

I have no luck with this ship , I get in T9 battles all the time :/ , I had few battles and max I done 30k dmg , and I have 4th level bb badge for dmg done .

While this new line has the potential to be fun, the game itself doesn't anymore. Between subs and CVs, there is very little fun to be had in this new line.

U didn't mis-time ur dmg control on 7:41, if you didnt use it sooner u would have ate more torps from that Lightning since the cv got ur rudder and engines

I know it's an old video but for just finishing grinding this line I can tell that the tier VII is not representative of the whole line. The Heinrich is one of the best of the line I loved it so much I couldn't wait to play the rest! Then comes the zieten, where things get a bit rough, the armor that make cruiser armor looks OP, but overall an OK ship at best.. And then the tier IX.. Gosh the ruppert is such a crap ship I hated it with passion, I rarely hated a ship more, probably my worst tier IX BB of all the lines I grinded.. It has no range, no armor, no main battery guns.. And it's not even fast or maneuverable.. I just got the schlieffen today so I hope it won't be too horrible but I can see myself not playing it all that much when I see how easily I destroy those with my other BB considering they have NO armor and no amount of angling will help you with that.. Secondary builds are fun when it works, and I love my Atlantico for that, it's SO much fun, you can angle and tank and use your gun for decent damage even though you're lacking ANY sort of perks, but it's a load of fun.. The German line on the other hand have really awesome secondaries and that's it. The only time you'll destroy something is if you play in divs with some DD to smoke you up in secondaries range of ennemies or against some stupid Yolo ships that will try to brawl you until they get smashed with your torpedoes.. Oh wait no actually they won't, cos your torpedoes tubes will be taken out within the first 3 mins of any battle as soon as an HE spammer will take them out in a volley or two for GOOD. So yeah overall an overrated li'e, the Preussen was SO much better and easier line to grind, it can be specc as secondary if you really want to and it lacks torps but considering the schlieffen line won't ever let you torp anyone anyway because they'll be out of commission then it makes no sense to grind schlieffen over Preussen unless you want the Hannover.. So yeah, buy the Heinrich, it's a fun ship especially as many tier VII tends to suck actually, but you don't have to grind it all the way..

Tier 8 is a lot more fun. Guns are much more reliable. Tier 9 is next level though. Everything seems to click there. 8 guns, secondaries for days and more torps. I played over 50 games at Tier 8 and now that I understand the style better it's made Tier 9 much much nicer. Torps, Carriers still hurt though... low HP pool is low.

Nah most people play them like special ed students who fell on their soft spot. They are easily countered, just kite away. And if there is a sub in between them and you, they will die quickly. In this branch subs have been my bane.

The most painful ship I've ever played before, the tier 6 are better 100% lost 10 games in a row once getting up tiered to t9 every game and getting over matched by every single ship not even being able to go anywhere, the guns also suck horribly so I'm going to try to fxp my way to t8

Im not really convinced. PQ appears excited for good reasons but we havent seen decent dmg numbers at all in this vid. And people cry out because of the old german BBs getting powercreept... Really !? These new german BCs completetly lack the biggest strength of the BBs which is their tankieness. I only see an alternative but one i wouldnt prefer.

This ship is only fun when you play against low tiers but never against 8 and 9 tier. Even 7 tier Colorado is too strong. So Prinz Heindrich is simply well balanced which is rare these days.

If you are at 10% HP by the point you decide to ram, you will likely die before even being close enough to hope to ram. As to ram or not ram, it heavily depends on the situation and various factors: * number of ships remaining in both teams, if your team has a significant advantage, a trade 1 to 1 is not a bad deal, if your team is short of 1 or 2 ships, it's generally not a good idea * your HP, your target HP * you are likely to die soon anyway (focused fire by several ships with no possibility to disengage) * possible opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone (shooting a broadsiding cruiser while ramming a BB for example) It's not a mechanic I like in this game, but it's present in game, so it has to be accounted for (and played intelligently).
