Using a pudding mix may seem like a short cut or something “from a box” but my mom had been doing it this way for decades to create the most amazing cakes! I actually spent months trying to find the recipe for this buttercream not knowing it’s name or how to search for it. Love the video, thank you for recreating something I remember so dearly ❤

I’ve always used pudding mixes too. My mom and my Oma did it the same way. I’m sure it would taste really good made from scratch too though. I’m glad you found my video and I hope you enjoyed it :) thank you for your comment it really brightened my day 😊

Can you use instant pudding mix? Like Jell-o brand?

Yes absolutely. There might just be a slight flavour difference between the different pudding mixes but any pudding mix should work. You could also probably use pudding that’s already made from the store, the only difference that would make would probably be taste and there might be a slight difference in texture.
