To add some more context, in Germany we have a different ending for each gender. It's like "actor" and "actress", but for literally every human related noun, for example, we don't have just "teacher" but "Lehrer" and "Lehrerin". Therefor, our language wouldn't even be able to properly support 105 genders. Also, special pronouns are much more difficult German, we can't just say the equaivalent of "they", as the third person plural is like the female singular but with plural conjugation. There are some new pronouns like "dey", but they sound REALLY weird imo, to a point where it is easier for me to talk about a queer person in English than in my own first language.
@andriibakhtiozin4477 Жыл бұрын
Same in Slavic languages, but usually we just use male gender to indicate profession, with a lot of exceptions of course, so it will be Doctor, Musician, Programmer, actor, surgeon, novelist, literally every medical profession we use in male gender, meanwhile if u use this words in female gender it won't be mistake but just gonna sound super weird. I found it just as a matter of habit in language, but perhaps for women recognition we have to change this habit and use female gender more often.

Worry not mate, it can get fixed - like Sweeds got "hen". And it should be pretty easy noting that "Mädchen" or "Weib" are already gernder neutral (i still dont get the reasons behind it, hehe). But ye, in Polish we already got something like "zrobiłOm" (i made/ich habe gemacht) as 'gender neutral' form (masculine is "zrobiłEm", feminine "zrobiłAm"; the neutral form (like das) in 3rd person would be actually "zrobiło" [like a kid made something]). I mean, ofc its still kind of twitter/instagram-bio-language but since Polish grammar is pretty complicated and this shit somehow works, i guess simmilar rules could get applied to other European languages - like Spanish or German. Think about it: like for instance "MechanikerOn" instead of "Mechaniker/Mechanikerin". And then you just have to apply this rule to every single name of profession. Voila! ps. I didnt mean to offend anyone :(. If anyone wants me to refer to them as "they/them", i dont really mind.

As a former fetish model, I don't care what people identify as and I feel very strongly that everyone has a right to self-identify as they choose. WITH THAT SAID THOUGH, I know at least 3 people in the US who are chronically toxic and abusive. Whenever they have to face consequences for their actions (because the rest of the music community finds out about it from one of their victims), they always suddenly have a new minority class marker of some sort to add to their self-identity, and they have all added a made-up gender to themselves. One of them, I'm pretty sure, just did that so that they could participate in a free tech education program that was for women-identifying people only. I'm not saying that everyone is faking how they feel and/or are toxic. However, this has become a very convenient way for predators to hide in vulnerable communities in plain sight and have access to really young, inexperienced people SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE it's bigoted to call people out for faking any of this.

Yes, some trans people commit crimes. If someone is being predatory, then call them out for being predatory, not for how they identify. Of course if you're gonna try to deny someone's identity at the same time as accusing them of crimes, people are gonna be suspicious of you, cause that will make it seem like you have other motives for making the accusation. That's just how it works - descriptively, not prescriptively. And that phenomenon is largely due to how transphobes like to call *all* trans people predators, as a blanket statement, which dilutes it and makes it harder to out *actual* predators - it's become a well-known negative stereotype, and as a result, people try to account for that bias
@nikkibee18710 ай бұрын
@@Unelith You've missed my point. I'm not saying that all transpeople are predatory for simply being trans. However, I am saying that there are a few people out there who pick up a special identity after they have done something predatory and been outed as such, and then play that card anytime that someone holds them accountable for their actions. (Like, "Oh, but you're just saying that because I am trans and you think all transpeople are predatory." when there was 0 indication that the person was saying that it applied to every single transperson, kind of like how you have done in the reply to me.)

You're correct. They've moved so far left that they're off the spectrum! Gender Identity should be what's visible to others - your look, your clothes, biology. What you feel and what your preferences are shouldn't determine that. You could be born a male biologically and might grow up to be whatever. You'll still be male if you "appear male" to others. People should stop being touchy about it or they should tattoo their identity on their forehead so people can be addressed the right way. One's "state of mind" is within and not obvious. Today people have started to stereotype - if one is male they have to be a certain way. If they're trance, they should be a different way. Why not just keep behaviour, preference and emotions out of this? One should have freedom to do as they please with no discrimination. Someone can be male and still do feminine/whatever stuff. Why give yourself a new label?

While I completely support respect towards every person as well as being against any form of discrimination, in my opinion there are only 2 genders and anything else is a preference within your sexuality regardless of what gender you identify with hence and in the same way every person is free to chose their sexual preferences and should be respected for that, pretending to impose someone else to rationalize that preference in terms of words while speaking to them is disrespectful and furthermore if the person results in being verbally or physically aggressive to demand that "respect".

I stay right in middle of deep rainbow colored streets and its fun actually. I and my spouse both only 100% hetro have fun here as we are in minority. As my lower belly is ballooning I can only stare at all the washboard abs that are on display from both genders and think as long as they are happy..thats all that matters. People are generally nicer here...more smiling and carefree than in more conservative place i have stayed. Also all ages even people above 50 seem to be into expressing themselves openly..Nice

So true! Many cultures have deities that are both, and/or recognize that individuals can be both genders. There is a duality in us all. I feel like people have generally forgotten this and I don’t know why they have negative reactions to other people’s identification. It doesn’t affect me in any way, and these people have always been with us.
@thelred-ph3lq11 ай бұрын
@@stephaniebates1504 Except when someone starts screaming at you, and a mob forms around you, because you said "Hi ma'am" To someone. The problem is the extreme reactions. Why yell, and create conflict when a simple "Please I prefer ..." Would do? But our culture promotes conflict. Heck, we are considered the more Warlike Nation in the history of the world (according to some).

Be careful, they’re coming for you 😂 …this is a huge reason I left the us tbh, but it’s becoming more common in Germany and elsewhere too I love that you felt free to make this, it’s harder for us women to speak against it tho bc we are expected to “be nice” and always “accommodate” whatever anyone wants and not dare object
@empressofawesome7099 Жыл бұрын
I don't agree about the gender thing - I'll happily call people any pronoun they want - BUT I can SO SO SO much relate to that last part of what you said, I feel for me it's harder as a woman to speak up and I was always expected to "accommodate" whatever anyone wants and not dare object. Yep, still trying to shake that part off.

@ahogammer6895 I don't think she's saying specifically the gender thing. I'm positive it's more the morality policing that it's a symptom of. If people want to call themselves random things, I couldn't care less. It's when they insist others not recognizing that as a shared reality is a societal problem that needs correcting that it becomes an issue. I'm a leftist and have realized over the past couple years that I'm apparently not as much of a leftist as I once thought if being a leftist means accepting xenogenders as a minority we all need to protect. The US left doesn't even talk about economic issues anymore even though this country has innumerable issues when it comes to poorer people. No healthcare, no assistance except in the most extreme cases and then it's not sufficient, takes disabled people years of lawsuits to get disability assistance... Nope, that's not important, lol. Yes, I want to leave this type of thinking.
