@@a.d.malcolmson3759 sorry but religious history of Germany isn’t that good… just look up the “30 jähriger Krieg” (don’t know wether there is an english term) and this is only the tip of the iceberg. But also something like the so called Ablassbriefe (again don’t know the english term) are some pretty fucked up shit that basically allowed the church to make money out of sins.

@@slimzes1966 oh yes, they have some messed up stuff, I'm not denying that at all. But they also have Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation (I'm a protestant myself, so I think it's important), and even the messed up stuff gives great story ideas. Again, it's important to me, and I respect your disagreement.

@@a.d.malcolmson3759 Well if you’re religious then you have a bit of another bond to the history. I was never a religious person despite growing up in lower Franconia one of the most religious areas in Germany. The simple reason why I think especially the religious history of Germany is a bit delicate is that they always somehow managed to fuck it up. At least that’s my point of view… i mean I am also quite a bit dramatic about it but hey…

Me too, I still remember the walls of sauerkraut cans and the trench system the lederhosen rebels build in the inner city of Stuttgart. That sauerkraut labyrinth forced the bigger force of the opressors in the small and tight places of the can trench system. which is now remembered here as the „sauerkraut labyrinth“. In that brutal close combat encounters the lederhosen rebels used guerilla warfare like hit and run tactics to actually win the battle. The lederhosen weren’t just an uniform. The thick leather were a good protective gear against the old versions of the light sabers which weren’t able to burn through that special treated leather pants. They were soaked in german beer and a thick layer of schweineschmalz. So the fat layer would burn and the moist leather wouldn’t let the heat of the saber burn the soldier who was wearing it. The battle of the sauerkraut labyrinths is still unofficially celebrated on every july 14th in the southern region of germany.

Maybe fiore would work with a sort of gauntlet made of one of or an alloy of the few materials resistant to lightsabers. For example there’s beskar, phrik and neuranium that could be good picks and have been used for actual armour in-universe. It would probably still be less effective with a basic lightsaber without a handle or a pommel though, probably more dangerous to the user too.

You actually could combine a lot of saber and rapier in there too since every shallow slash has the potential to cause severe burns.

I think this is unironically a good demonstration of what djem so should be like. A highly aggressive style that uses offense as defense and overwhelms their opponent through sheer offense, which is also their defense.

Lightsabers: are weapons with lazers for a blade so it's very light and the hilt is the only part with weight. Disney: "Okay Daisy and Adam, in your fight scenes, I want you to swing these like baseball bats weighing 20 tons."

I gotta say, as effective as it might be, maybe swinging the omnidirectional blade that can cut through flesh at the slightest touch at your neck behind your head may not be the best idea, even if you can control it amazingly

I actually have a Star Wars character in a D&D game (he uses the same form as Count Dooku). That specific form, Makashi is THE fencer form. I always emphasize that in his combat. Lots of parries, and quick thrusts.

Could you imagine a part of the hilt that disconnects and slides on the blade to allow halfswording? It would make sense as an innovation made by the Revanchists during the mandalorian wars in order to better attack the weak spots in mandalorian armor since it is difficult to penetrate with a lightsaber.
@walz1986
@walz1986 Жыл бұрын
I learned the Zornhau quit different, but it is really hard to interprete the manuscripts right for that strike. It basicly means a full force attack striking away the blade of the opponent and wounding him in its way, and that would be a perfect attack for a Sith (Zornhau means rage strike). To strikes are missing the Schielhau and Scheitelhau...
