German Newsreel Excerpts (1944)

Reel 1, Part 1, German women ride horses trained in cavalry units. Part 2, Nazi-officered Slovakian cadets hear a presidential speech in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, and salute with sabers. Part 3, Croatian officers, trained in Germany, detrain in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, review troops, hear a speech, and parade with Chief of State Ante Pavelic. Part 4, bombed-out residents of Lisieux, France, huddle in cellars as rescue workers search through ruins. Part 5, German truck and bicycle patrols in the Cherbourg sector are issued newspapers. Allied planes attack a German motor column; one is shot down. Alone in a ruined church, a German soldier plays an organ. Reel 2, action in the Caen sector, France. German troops in foxholes eat, play with pets, and receive mail. Infantry and tanks, supported by artillery and rockets, destroy Allied armor. A German tank crew is decorated. German infantry, tanks, and armored cars enter a town.

They picked those fights by blindsiding, sucker-punching, etc. (They sneak-invaded most every unprepared country they conquered). The result is that by 1945, the pan-Germanic Master Race armies got the holy crap knocked out of them, for good. That's the bottom line. Stop making excuses for them.

How about the ones who did make it and then when they get home they find cities in ruins and most of their loved ones are dead or injured. At least the American soldiers got to come home to undamaged cities and civilians are untouched.

Actually it wasn't too bad... Total German soldiers served in ww2 was 14m, and 4m lost. 10m survived. Russian soldiers lost 20m.

Noah Arvino. It’s not a popular view but allied leaders were in awe of the German army of the Second World War. They knew they had to outnumber the Germans about ten to one, or the equivalent with airpower etc., to win any battle. The Germans were beaten by sheer numbers only. Sometimes it was embarrassing. The Americans in North Africa for instance.

I don't even know where to start. That's pure and utter historical revisionism. You see that's exactly the problem with learning about history through KZbin videos and not taking the scientific approach.... It's an historical fact that the Soviet Union on its own could have defeated the multinational fascist army (it wasn't just the German Wehrmacht you know). I highly recommend you to read Myths and Realities by David Glantz. He's an highly respected american military historian who contributed much to changing the outdated view of history you and many other people have.

Ivan Red. Ivan Red. Don’t know to whom your comments are directed but no one can say with certainty who would have won a war between Germany and the Soviet Union. The Soviets had enormous landmass to retreat into, but their population was only about twice that of Germany and their science and technology far behind. However they did have a much greater industrial base than Hitler realised; and he did admit that if he had known he would not have invaded. But man for man the German army was way ahead of all the allies.

@@maxmullen6337 although I agree with your points about the quality of the Wehrmacht and the land mass of the Soviet Union, it still has to be stated that the red army defeated the Wehrmacht and its allies on a strategical and tactical level on the battlefield. The whole "defeated by sheer numbers" argument is a popular myth that has been disproven countless times. I have to correct myself tho, you truly can learn about history trough KZbin. When the Soviets goosed them back from Moscow to Berlin, they did so with an unbelievable 500 well-armed divisions, like 5 million men. Even Patton thought twice about taking Berlin before the Soviets.

Nuclear Vault - during WW2, there was no Czechoslovakia. Only fascist Slovak State and Protectorate of Böhmen and Mähren (Czechia and Moravia). Bratislava was the capital of fascist Slovak State, now (since 1993) a capital of Slovak republic/Slovakia. In this video, there are no shots from Slovakia.

Вся ошибка руководства Германии после разгрома 1940 году Франции в операции " Жёлтая" надо было, во что бы то ни стало разгромить англичан в операции " Морской лев" осуществить высадку с терриории как Франции так и с Норвегии с юга и с севера Англии ! С разгромом Англии СССР уверен на все 100 % сам бы пытался избежать войны уступками териорий в плоть до Украины и Белоруссии и тех территорий , что захватил в начале 1940 года !!!!
