I'm noting feedback here and elsewhere that the ET7 feels big in Europe, and that maybe the ET5 will do better. Is that a concern, or just an observation about how cars have generally evolved to be smaller in Europe than in other parts of the world? I would think that modern safety features would eliminate some of the need to be smaller on tight, crowded streets. Or has the main reason for smaller car sizes (than, say, in the US) been the affordability of petrol?

All NIO cars share the battery pack, so the ET5 can not be smaller. It is still 4790/1960/1499mm

@@D.A.OhK. Hi, sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes, the ET5 is smaller than the ET7, but it might still be a big car. To accommodate the battery swap design, all NIO cars have a similar width, even the ET5, which is 1960mm wide, wider than the Audi A6. It might be difficult to pass through narrow alleys or park in narrow slots. One good thing is that the ET5 is significantly shorter than the ET7, so it has a much smaller turning radius, which makes it more agile.

I’m a Brit living in Beijing, recently sold my old VW an bought the Nio ES6 (EL6 in Europe) mid size SUV, my first impressions when I drove it was the size, mainly the width. With dimensions 4854 long x 1995 wide x 1703 high it is not massive like a Toyota Land Cruiser but the width can be intimidating at first, with a wheelbase of 2915 the turning circle is not small but it is not to big either. The sensors give plenty of warning if you get too close to something, the self parking is also very good, AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) works but is pretty intense. The width and long wheelbase make for a roomy passenger space. Highly recommend the Nio.

The dash of EQS looks much better than ET7. It seems the displays are after market add-ons in the Nio.
