Great rifle the 53, i own the Olympia and the LP53. The LGV is one of the most accurate springers i own. Super smooth cocking match rifle.

What a pity that there doesn`t seem to be a reliable dealer for Walther air rifles here in Canada, at least at present. I`m happy to see that you have `saved` this one.

Good to see you brought it back from the graveyard by making a leather piston seal. Leather seals can last a century or more if properly cared for. Great work on a lovely rifle.

If it was built in 1953, it is 70 years old. It is in remarkable condition. I won’t be around to see it, but I hope my rifles last and look as good in 70 years time. 😊

Well, as I briefly mentioned, this particular one was likely made in '63 or '64. But, yeah, it still looks good after six decades.

love seeing the older air rifles, any chance you could do a video on how to make a leather piston seal ?🤔👍🏻

@@canuckair. Hi from across the pond. I’m fascinated by peep sights…..aged eyes….and not really interested in scopes. Does a peep sight have to be matched to the front sight, and what provision is needed to resist the fore aft shock on firing ? Thanks.

I wish that when I really got into quality air guns, in the early 80's, that I had bought some older Walthers. Hard to find them these days.

Thanks for the video, that indeed look to be a very well made air rifle. From the air rifles I grew up with in the 1970s, the HW 35 was probably nicest overall. But for my focus on 10m target shooting, I bought an Anschutz 335S.

Despite the fact that we can make things with CNC these days, which is much cheaper than manual machines. No one can make guns with this much style any more. Weihrauch makes very good rifles, but most of them are ugly, and they have plastic parts, where this one use steel.
