If you don't know the format of these videos, they usually refer to major things that happened in that country's or continent's history. So, in this video, the initial reference was to conquest of French empires, especially Napoleon. Then it probably referred to Polish-Lithuanian union, then the romans. In the German parts, they made references to Bismark, ww1 Germany and ww2 No-No Germany (with arm bands). In the end, they made reference to Soviet union grabbing large parts of Europe including the capturing of Berlin(half technically) (after ww2 end).

I was there for the day as well but you still needed a visa to get into the East. West Germans couldn't work in the east and vice versa. There were still soldiers on top of the Berlin Wall. I saw both British and Russian soldiers but there must have been French & US soldiers there as well. We didn't get there until noon though. Germany wasn't properly unified until later that year. Honecker wasn't yet deposed but East Germany was no longer under the control of the USSR. I do remember even walking around being led by a tour guide I lagged behind a bit and shouted out at some locals for something & my friend telling me off for that like you aren't supposed to show any emotion or defend yourself. I think they were trying to mug me or sell me drugs and I panicked. This in just the five hour window we were there. Imagine if we had gone to Berlin for a long weekend on a package trip like we did to Copenhagen years before and I had decided to wander off alone one day. The memory only returned recently.
