Hard to believe I'm going to be an uncle in a few months. My sister is 6 months pregnant and my parents are considering getting a new puppy. Hopefully we have time to train her before my nephew is born because the real challenge will be teaching her proper impulse control. Newborn children don't fully understand that their dogs love them even though large breeds like GSDs tend to become somewhat overzealous.

if the relationship is anything like the one I had with my with my canine nanny you guys are going to have a great time. Bruce was my constant companion, I learned to walk hanging on to his collar and we used to take naps together in his bed. I even used to like eating his dog biscuits and to this day I taste biscuits I give my present best mate, also called Bruce as he will be my last dog in honour of my childhood best mate.

We had a German Shepherd called Herman when I was younger and I remember one time when we were at the beach my sister who had not long learnt to walk, had made her way down to the shoreline(mum was watching her) and after walking just a little bit into the water our Shepard had bolted over to her and picked her up by the back of her nappy and carried her back to mum 😂 Miss that dog every day

A beautiful , highly intelligent Shepard... when i was a baby in a pram in the UK, my Mother often told me the story of Wendy, her black German Shepard.. would sit , untethered next to the pram.. if people got too close , there was a very quiet rumbling in her throat.. just warning you your next move could be detrimental to your health.
