Exactly, it was probably a lover or an ex. I've dated abusive people before and I've never had a handgun in my house during that time, and even though I didn't have it in my house I never let them know that I owned one. I feel that's a mistake because I feel I should have told them in the very beginning that I'm a handgun owner and perhaps the abuse would not have occurred. I dated and lived with one man and my dad what's cleaning his gun when we came over. The guy made a slick joke about it and my dad started laughing and said oh yeah, she hasn't shown you hers yet, it's even bigger. Dude started laughing and my dad just stared at him in the eye and the laughter stopped. A few months later I cut it off with that guy, and within a year I was getting calls from a public defender asking if I could be a character witness. Witness to what, his constant verbal berating? No thanks. Come to find out he had beat the crap out of a girl and end up doing 17 years, it was way worse than just a meeting. And the girl was only 16 and he was almost 30 years old at the time😢 I know if you would have tried that with me he would have met my Glock 17 and not from an up close range cuz that's the last thing I'm going to wait for, I'm going to wait till I feel that my life is in true threat of eminent Jeopardy and pray that I never have to use it

At the same time I'm still of the opinion that if you live with an abuser you should not keep a handgun in your house, if it's gotten to the point where you guys are actually together and living together, or he has access to your home? Hell no. That's why I wish I would have showed my ex who abused me the fact that I had access to a handgun in the beginning because maybe he would have thought twice but instead I let him move in with me and I never said anything about it and then he began abusing me, by that point I was scared to bring a handgun around because he knew how to disarm people things to his martial arts training

Yep that’s what happened to someone i was in a relationship his dog didn’t alert us to any danger because the killer was someone that’s been around and she knew. That’s why it doesn’t matter who it is don’t introduce your pets to anyone. Many times dog behavior doesn't actually match what the human is projecting onto the dog, hence why everyone says dogs no good people yet we know serial killers have had dogs. As a dog behaviorist, I can walk into almost any home with aggressive dogs, off leash no Muzzle, and get them under control within 3 hours I may take a bite but it's very rare and I've been doing this for over 20 years people need at this point, to get serious and seriously learn dog language, behavior, and psychology this is getting out of hand, dogs need to be honored like dogs. By treating them like humans we are torturing them, they literally have no idea where they belong in the pack especially in instances like this two German Shepherds? If they were trained they would have been on guard on point, waiting for her to give the command to attack. No dog should be doing anything without his or her guardian giving the command and if dog decides to do whatever he or she wants, that means the dog is not trained and it's not the dogs fault the dog is trained to be a dog, it's the humans fault for not learning the dog's language. So many of these instances can be prevented yet too many humans are obtuse to comprehend the most simple instructions.
