Bob's Red Mill sells ground hazelnuts in many grocery stores. I buy a bag every fall for my Christmas baking.

That’s interesting! Our grocery doesn’t have it but I might try another one to see if I can find it. Thanks for telling us!

They look beautiful. Making a third one with strawberry or raspberry jam would kinda give you the colors of the German flag 🇩🇪

In Swedish I know these as "syltsnittar" or "jam slices." Usually they're left plain or with a dusting of powdered sugar/thin icing.

Oh I will be here, hopefully, if I'm not standing on a ladder hanging Christmas lights out on my house! In Michigan, you do all the lighting that requires climbing a ladder BEFORE Thanksgiving and the snow begins to fall. Then handle the ground work decorating the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Nevertheless I will catch the video at least in the evening. Take care Barbara. Happy holidays & many blessings to you and yours! 🤗🦃🎄🙏

Be careful on that ladder! We just got two little Christmas trees from Aldi, yesterday, and put them up. It's the only way to keep my daughter @LilithMax from demanding that we put up the big tree already. It's currently cold in Texas, so the mood is a bit more in favor of the holidays but usually I don't really feel like decorating for Christmas while it's still hot outside. Seems that this year we are "lucky".

I did think of one question. I do have fresh hazelnuts but do I need to remove the papery skin from them before grinding them? Thank you.
@MyGermanRecipes Жыл бұрын
We do remove the skin. Pour boiling water over the nuts, wait a little and den easily rub it off.

P.S. Would your recipe actually be ‘ stange ‘ or sticks , here in England a slab would be the shape of your baking tray . Gruße .
