Another great session, Tim. A tea green, Tetra Matcha graces my rather modest collection. At 29.5mm , in terms of size and by today's standards, it is probably a women's watch, but - having watched many a 1940s movie and dressing accordingly - I like to describe it as a "traditional" sized man's watch. Slim, strong (in design) and discrete, surely the perfect gentleman's dress watch. A cracking watch, made by a great team.

Very good and informative video. The thing I would suggest to make it even better is to show some of the watches in the metal for review. I tried on some Nomos watches a while ago and kept coming back to how well the Club Campus 38 manual wind hit my wrist and the white dial just looked great. Would be a tremendous every-day watch for the office and also a piece that could be "dressed up" with the right strap for wearing with suits for dinner or evening events. Great piece. I think I need to add one to my "collection." The one I really have my eye on otherwise is the Zurich World timer. Great looking piece and great function... very curious to see how it would look on my 6.75 inch wrist.

For upcoming videos, you could review one of the watch brands based in your city, Hamburg. Regards from Chile!

@Caseback_Tim, I love it when you spread your journalistic wings on your channel. What a well-produced, well-researched segment! The idea of one shop, at arm's length, doing all of the product design as well as the marketing and advertising design is such a model of design thinking! It's certainly one way to work around the friction between creatives and techies. If I were going to wear a Nomos, it would be upside-down: the movements are stunning, but the numerals on the dial make me unhappy.

Be ready for the nonsense regarding the end of your video Tim! I think Nomos is right btw to the extent that their market would be people who go into details/do research rather than someone who just picks up a watch at the store. So if their brand is tied to a particular town and its perception so heavily I think it makes sense that they would have something to say about it. Very interested in more German watch brands. I'd be interested in something about Germany and the quartz crisis aswell as the culture of family owned companies in Germany and what that looks like in the watch industry.
@sefard7773 жыл бұрын
So is the design and marketing not one of the biggest factors in the value of a watch? It seems Nomos is a bit hypocritical, they sued Muhle Glasshutte for having less than 50% value created in the town but their design and marketing are made in Berlin. This should be taken into consideration when talking about that 95% value they tout from atop their big white horse. Any thoughts, Tim?

The 95 % refer to the movement. This is the rule in town: They measure only the value added to the movement.
