I am from Bangladesh. In my city here about more than 500 graves of European soldiers who got killed by Japanese army and air strikes. Whenever i went there i feel these fallen soldiers must had their families waiting. Many indian soldiers also fought on british side and never returned. May all those lives rest in peace. Need to do somthing to stop war throughout the world. 😥

If anything , one could argue that more Allied soldiers fought for ideological reasons being that you can actually count actual volunteers rather than just drafted conscripts. Most Germans were pulled into service, and told various reasons for the fight but ultimately those especially in the East realized they were fighting to simply defend elements of the Fatherland from soviet pillage.
