0:51 I know why she thinks you are from Austria. Your pronunciation of the letter R is somehow different from Standard German. People from Austria and Bavaria tend to roll the R. It is difficult to guess an accent just by a few sample words. But she immediately noticed that your pronunciation is different somehow. I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago. I met a guy from Finland who has lived in Germany for almost ten years or so. We had been writing text messages before and he did not tell me that he actually was from Finland. When we met, I immediately noticed a different accent from his first two words. And I asked him if he is from Austria. Then he told me that he is from Finland. And while he was speaking I realised that my first guess was wrong. However, before I could make a second guess he told me that he is from Finland. My second guess was maybe Russia, because Russians also have a tendency to roll the R (much more than Austrians) and his vowels were somehow different. But your German pronunciation is very impressive. The German „R“ and the German „ch“ are very difficult for English native speakers, especially from the US. Normally when Americans speak German I can tell them on the spot that they‘re from the US. Because of these two consonants. People from Wales and England have slightly different pronunciation of the consonant R. I think the Irish and the Scottish R is also somehow different (when speaking English Scots usually have a kind of tap R. But I never experienced a Scot or and Irish man speaking German. So probably it would not so easy for me to figure out an Irish or Scottish accent.

Hey. Are you sure that the translation of "for x weeks" is "für x wochen" ? When I did this, a German corrected me. I told her "Ich habe Deutsch gelernt für drei monate". She suggested either "Ich habe drei monate lang Deutsch gelernt" or "Ich lerne seit drei Monaten Deutsch."

because English has the verb right after subject and next are adjectives and adverbs, it's the same for a lot of Romance languages and all latin based ones. German uses different composition of words having the action or verb at the end of the sentence.
