Nicaragua and Germany clashed at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over Germany's support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict with Gaza. Nicaragua accused Germany of providing Israel with weapons, violating the 1948 United Nations Genocide Convention. Daniel Mueller, representing Nicaragua, criticized Germany for supplying aid to Gazans while also providing military equipment used against them.
Carlos Jose Arguello Gomez, Nicaragua's ambassador to the Netherlands, accused Germany of failing to distinguish between self-defense and genocide. Nicaragua sought emergency measures from the ICJ to halt Germany's assistance to Israel.
Alain Pellet, another lawyer for Nicaragua, emphasized the urgency of suspending aid to prevent potential genocide. Germany will respond to the allegations in court, rejecting Nicaragua's claims.
