Hi Vincent! Thirty-six volumes packed with material. Wow, amazing! I love it! He certainly had a passion! It is beautiful to see. I wonder if he ever went to Germany to find and experience the history there. Thanks for sharing.

We don't think he ever went. Indeed I think his interest was only in philately, and he was indeed passionate!

Very impressive collection detailing the history of the 3rd Reich highlighting the length to which they went to propaganda wise. Makes my three volumes pale in comparison. Do you know if the owner ever exhibited his material?

Hello. No, he never exhibited. We think he could never stop adding things, and that always makes exhibiting difficult!

The NAZI's started out by pretending to have a Christian ethos with it being included in the early membership ceremonies but they soon moved their emphasis firmly to socialism with an ethnic nationalistic focus, rather than the class struggle internationalist outlook whick we saw more of in Russia and China. Their economics however were very socialist and included price controls. Christianity took a back seat quickly, I believe at some point they stopped asking new members to confirm their religious ideology when they joined - but I'll leave that to the experts as it's not our area of expertise!

It makes me sad that anyone was ever so obsessed with this stuff. This surpasses philatelic or historical interest, especially with the plethora of photos. I

Hello. The NAZI's used a lot of Roman iconography and intense progoganda in a way perhaps the world had never seen before. For whatever reason it has fascinated people who aren't sympathetic to their philosophy. Certainly the guy who built this collection was obsessed with that period of German history yet simultaniously believed they were the bad guys. We even saw soldiers who fought across Europe, who must have hated the Germans, bringing home NAZI memorabelia - I'm sure smarter people than us have written papers on this strange phenomenon.

It seems he was haunted by the 1000 year Reich. So many pics, so much material. Owning this collection you are more than complete with the 12 years. The collection is excellent, but I hope he was not a fanboy of this regime.

He didn't seem to be. As I mentioned in a previous reply it seems so many people have conflicting views. They hate the philosophy and regime yet are fascinated with the powerful propoganda.

@@StampAuctions Yes, this is possible. In Germany for the last set (Michel 909-910) there are several people looking for the fake letters having this set and a cancellation starting somewhere April, 20th and willing to pay hundreds of EUROs. All are fakes till now and there are endless discussions if these stamps arrived in Berlin and with this there is a possibility that they were used in the last days of Berlin. The last secured place for these stamps is Passau, delivered from Vienna. Afters this, nobody knows. I come from Germany and there are plenty of Deutsches Reich coillections out there. But I have never seen such a big one with so much material. Not only stamps and letters, he must be obsessed. The collection is the best what I have seen from this era so far.
