Cooking actually isn't super hard, you just need to follow written instructions. Maybe decide to experiment with a spice now and then, if you're feeling up to it. Here's a simble burger recipe for anyone looking for an easy first try: Ground beef Lemon pepper Garlic powder Salt Black pepper Cilantro Flatten the meat out on a plate, add a sprinkle of each of the above spices and massage it into the meat while forming it into a patty. Cook on medium for 6 minutes, flip, cook another 5 minutes, flip, cook one last minute and let sit on a paper towel for 2 minutes. Serve on an English muffin.

See the problem is this is why I’m a baker not a cook lol. How do you determine a “sprinkle” or when to experiment lol. I can cook any recipe with clear instructions but trying to learn my families recipes are a nightmare because my grandma is the classic kind of “mess with it until the taste is right” kind of cook so I had to make her sit down and measure out at least a starting point for her homemade sauces because my brain doesn’t work that way. Now that I’ve made it a bunch I don’t need to measure to adjust it but my brain just doesn’t work like that I need exact measurements lol

Rats are very clean animals, they use litter boxes, they regularly wash & groom themselves and they put their food in clean places. My rats smell like weird perfume, they never stink; I do have female rats so they are more clean and pee less and their pee doesn’t smell as bad as male rats. Edit: My rats go on my dining table with me when I am eating btw.

9:10 I know how to cook some things, just not everything. I know that when you're cutting meat, you rinse the board afterwards to get the meat off, but that you use cold water only because hot or warm water could start cooking the meat directly onto the board (especially with chicken). I know that when you prepare bacon it's best to get the bacon with the ring on, so that you can cut the rind off and then put it in the pan, the fat or lard or whatever it is inside the rind will escape into the pan as the rinds are cooked and then you can just cook the rest of the bacon in that. I know that it's best to prepare as many of your ingredients as you can before you start cooking so it's ready to go so you don't risk burning other things. I know that when cooking pasta, it's a good idea to use some of the water from the pot that's cooking the pasta to put into your sauce - do this after the pasta's been cooking for a while, and only use this trick if it's a sauce that's made up of things like regular tomatoes, it thickens the sauce that you've made, don't use that with sauce's made with stuff like tinned tomatoes because then it'll just add cooking time while you're waiting for the water to dissolve. I know that if you're using tinned tomatoes, rinse the tins out with a little bit of water, swish it around, then add it to the sauce - if it's don't just after you put the tinned tomatoes into the pot then it'll have plenty of time ti dissolve and you won't have wasted that last little bit of sauce still in the tin

one of the biggest things they don't outright say in this movie (and i may be wrong) is part of the reason for the big Flashback of Anton to his mom or grandma's cooking was that the home Remy's family used to live by / in was HIS house. if you look at the house in the beginning and the flashback it appears to be the same. Remy learned to cook from Anton's family so it wasn't just him reliving and experience from memory. he was really eating his mom / grandma's recipe.

To be fair to the chef about to pepper spray him, when he talked about his "tiny chef" who makes his decisions, she looked down towards his nethers and quickly back up at him. Then he started talking about how he was about to whip his tiny chef out, so yeah, easy mistake.

Rats are actually SUPER clean critters! They do in fact tend to eat 'cleaner' food and the pet ratties I've met in my life have all been very meticulous about cleaning themselves (little hands included!) after they have their meals! So, yep, ESPECIALLY Since Remy goes the extra mile to make sure he's cleaned, I'd eat something made by him specifically! Also, I know how to cook! The dish I know how to make best is Butter Chicken (with garlic naan and mango lassi on the side!) and I'm actually expanding to baking!

9:07 - I'm Epileptic, and my Mom's afraid I'm going to have a seizure while cooking, which will leave the gas stove on, so there's only two things I know how to make. The only time I can use the stove is when it's electric. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1) Pork chops (in a toaster oven). They're fully cooked, they just don't have that golden color to it. 2) Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli, and this is my favorite thing to make. Sometimes it has Shrimp instead of Chicken, sometimes Penne instead of Fettuccine. (I know he said "I better not see Chicken Alfredo" but I can only make two things on my own and I had to list both.) 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 10:27 - His full name's Alfredo Linguine, so he got his name from a dish. 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 42:02 - Ratatouille (technically that's Confit Byaldi) has tomatoes, eggplant and yellow and green zucchini. Ratatouille is the soup that his mom made him as a kid. 〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️ 42:26 - His mama's the lady with the gun in the beginning.

I love Ratatouille! This is one of my favorite movies. I've always been interested in learning different languages, especially French. I started learning French in the 6th grade, and ever since, I fell in love with the French language and culture, especially the food. I love French cuisine! Food, in general, is so special. That's why I cry every single time I see Anton Ego's flashback to his childhood eating Ratatouille. This movie also inspires me because Remy is so passionate, and that is something that my parents always instilled in us. Whatever we decided to do, my parents always said we should feel passionate about it and work hard. Besides that, Remy has a friend in Linguini, and eventually, Colette believes Remy can be a great cook even though he is a rat. Ratatouille has taught me that there is always time to find/rediscover my passion, to keep going, and never stop, even if it seems impossible. I used to doubt myself and was trying to figure out what I wanted to do career-wise. I went from job to job, trying to figure out my path. It's been a long journey, but with the support of my friends, family, and my partner, I followed my path. I am currently on the next step in my journey and pursuing a Master's in French Studies. I look forward to my future and continuing to study and eventually teach French.

Favorite dish I make for myself is tough, but I think my most reliable one is a Mediterranean chickpea stew. I forget where I found the recipe, but it has 2 cans of chickpeas, about half a bag of spinach, a thing of feta cheese, a can of diced tomato, half a red onion, ground cloves, garlic, 1 cup of broth (I use chicken but vegetable broth is typical), some cayenne pepper, and oregano. After you cook the onion a little you just throw everything together with the feta and spinach added last so they don't clump together, and it is just... so good. Especially for cold weather. I like the broth element to be thick too so I'll usually add a little cornstarch

#bingers I haven't seen you watch an anime film yet, correct me if I'm wrong. I highly recommended you check out the Studio Ghibli films like "Spirited Away," or I feel like you would really like Mamoru Hosada's "Summer Wars." My personal favorite anime movie (and favorite movie of all time) is "A Silent Voice." It tackles serious issues but it is a beautiful film and well worth the watch. I will keep recommending these until you see one.
