My mind just travelled back to 1998, I literally saved money from my lunch for about 8 months, and with additional sponsorship from my dad I bought my N64 in Toys R Us, only to play Zelda Ocarina of Time and later Majora's Mask, I didn't care about any other games, spent hours on the weekends playing in my small TV in my room, with my baby brother sitting on the floor just watching me playing for hours, we just rode to Gerudo Valley to listen to this song for 1 or 2 hours and for searching rupees. Not having to be worried about anything else in the world, life was good and easier, and my dad was still alive. Those were damn good times, please take me back then...

It's incredible that Koji Kondo was able to modulate with MIDI to the point where specific percussiveness of strings could be conveyed, and tone/vibrato could be emulated for brass instruments. Very clever sound design. Kondo had to design for the shitty CRT screen speakers we all played on, and this came out great. You can hear more of it with more modern headphones on, and it's fun to find notes I never heard growing up. I had no clue it was MIDI the whole time.

Stop. You’ve reached a checkpoint in the internet. Drop your labors for a minute and rest. Listen to the music and redirect your eyes. Too much blue light from your phone isn’t good for you and can harm your eyesight. Try and straighten your back too, consistent bad posture can cause permanent damage. Read a chapter of a book while you recharge and restore your hp and stamina. You need it for the journey ahead.

@benitofranco3728 жыл бұрын
+Luke Schwiebert Actually Flamenco is Spanish, not Latin. Which is probably why they chose it in the first place. As you pointed out, it's an ARABIC themed desert, and the arabs conquered Spain and other parts of Europe. So the ENTIRE Spanish culture HAS traces of the Arabs. Like the music. Which is why they probably chose a Spanish theme for Gerudo Valley.

I feel like the real punishment to the Gerudo for their actions in Ocarina wasn't Ganondorf's execution, him being sent to the Twilight Realm or the destruction of their civilization. It was the Sages taking away their right to play amazing music in their desert in Twilight Princess.

But when i reached geroudo valley as adult link. The only thought i had was *I got this* and beat the temple in one go. Knowing what to say to the lady in the front as child link. Not taking a single heart of damage during the mage sisters fight. I finally felt like a true gamer during that moment. Probably my greatest stride in gaming history

songs like these are the reason why real life needs background music too. I imagine myself swimming in a swimming pool while Aquatic Ambience plays out of nowhere. Or an evil theme song when I enter school. Or the treasure chest sound from TLOZ when I open my backpack. haha. Or TLOZ overworld theme when I'm on my bike to school. And if I'm just walking, the Donkey Kong country main theme song has to play in the background
@Brian-pk9if6 жыл бұрын
I actually did have the Wind Waker's overworld theme (whenever you're on the boat) music in my head while on the school bus in grade school going to school since it was a 10+mile ride going 55,just looking out the window it was perfect.

whenever I was in any building I would hear the lorule castle theme from ALBW though I think I wood hear lost woods when I'm in a forest, or are lost, and the lorule main theme otherwise. actually, I think I would hear safety in sanctuary when I'm at school.
@ssjup814 жыл бұрын
Man, so many memories! I would venture into Gerudo Valley just to hear this theme. Didn't care if I got caught as adult Link or getting scolded as kid Link to bug off...I just LOVED this theme. It was probably my favorite in the game. The Windmill Hut song is another that I really liked and would purposely hang around just to hear the music. This game in general was a lot of fun and all the music was perfect, especially the temple themes (including the Fire Temple with the original chants). Can't believe I played this game 22 years ago. I feel old being in my late 30s now. lol

The sun goes up, the sun goes down That's how it is in Gerudo town And that is how it has been for many years The day is hot, the night is cold And only one who is so bold Would even dare come 'round here Without a fear... Every season the wind brings the same A darkness that brings forth lots of pain "But we'll stand strong even in the rain," That is what we proclaim... (And that's as far as I got when trying to write lyrics for the song)

Now there are telepathic twins clapping in each of my ears alternately in perfect synchronicity. I am one with the claps. Trumpets too encircle me. I am truly the eye of a mariachi sand storm. Headphones will free you from this high poly world. In stereo, MIDI is unstoppable.
