This cattle drive has been a disaster, one of the worst you have ever been on. Torrential downpours, swollen rivers and ornery cattle have slowed progress to a crawl. It's almost as if someone put a curse on you. Now, the Trail Boss says there is a danger of not making your delivery date, which means you might not get paid. Fortunately, he has a plan! The weather is clearing and he might be able to get some time back by leaving the main trail and taking an old shortcut. It may be risky, some homesteaders may have settled in the area, rustlers may be about, but hey, sometimes you have to take some chances, right? What could possibly go wrong?
