Started taking pictures of interesting people in the overcrowded instagram spots. That’s how I met my wife. She was with her school mates at the Eiffel Tower. I thought she was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen wearing a yellow summer dress and cool shades. After she noticed me snapping away she finally said, “May I see the pictures u took?” The rest is a fairy tale. My soul mate ❤

I have one more tip for you, using a tripod take at least 10-15 pictures of the same composition ( each picture is taken every 10 or 15 seconds apart, no ND filter needed, just fix white balance). Then using photoshop you can combine them using the average function, it will remove the people unless the place was as crowded as a taylor swift concert. This method is great for places like the eiffel tower or landmarks that are usually crowded during the day

Great tips! Would be nice if Vivien had more screen time. Spent two weeks on the Oregon coast with my Sony A6000. 85% of my shots done with the Sony 18-135 OSS. That OSS stabilization was truly helpful when zoomed in and taking shots on windy beaches and other view points.

If you don't have an ND, you can just shoot video with 360 degree shutter angle and combine (average or median) frames in post.

Jason, how many lenses are you guys carrying with you on a trip (not the top amount that you pack, but the number that you are waking around with)? Thanks. If you could share which ones, that would also be greatly appreciated!

@@JasonVong Interesting. After recently getting a 50mm GM f/1.4 to pair with my Sony a7IV...i feel like i made a mistake. I should've gotten a 35 and then an 85. 50 is great, but it's a jack of all trades and master of none. I've heard great things about the 24mm but I've never worked with something that wide. Composing with a 24mm would be a challenge. Not sure what to do....ah, first world problems!

A good idea, but people need to learn to go on days outside of national holidays and less popular places that have less population and are less popular. Out of season are the best days and avoid Saturdays and Sundays as they will be more pleasant for you. If you want to help the Japanese, visit areas with little population as it helps the local economy, which has little population and income.
@JasonVong7 ай бұрын
In an ideal situation, yes absolutely go when it's not as crowded but unfortunately many people have only so many days off and usually it's around the same time as everyone else. Since the borders opened up, Japan has been a hot spot. Can't fault newcomers for wanting to visit the central spots like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc. And being in a crowd sucks but I've hung around non-photographers when Tokyo's at their busiest and my friends didn't mind the crowd, in fact, they didn't even think how clustered it was. They were just excited to be there. That's when I realized it was all about the mindset.

@@JasonVong I could show other parts of Japan that are not so well known and that have beautiful photogenic landscapes for us to discover.
