I'm curious, if I decide to go into the photography business sole proprietor and apply for this card, what happens at tax time? 🤔 I'm afraid it might really complicate things with the IRS.

I’m not the best person to ask. I hired an accountant when I started my first business because it was initially a complicated situation doing reselling on Amazon FBA.i feel like if it’s a straightforward business, you might be able to get away doing it yourself with a tax software if you don’t want to invest in an accountant, but I don’t have personal experience yet to confirm.

This topic has been covered in many other KZbin videos, and all say the same thing that even the smallest business can count. You yourself put $500-$1000 dollars in income for the KZbin business on an application. But these business cards have much higher MSR numbers than personal cards. If you can get approved with a small amount of side business income, and therefore probably a small amount of side business spend, how are you hitting the SUBs without making horrible business decisions? Even putting personal spend on the card doesn’t seem like enough without spending more than you’d actually spend

I forgot to talk about this in the video, thank you for asking. The spend requirements are typically a bit higher. So you’ll need a bit more strategy in place before applying. Everyone I know puts personal expenses on business cards to hit minimum spends. It’s frowned upon, but there’s not much evidence of action ever being taken place. With meeting the spend, you’ll want a plan to meet the spend before getting the card. My friend opened this card because she has a large home purchase to make which made the rest of the spend doable with regular purchases. When I opened this card, I had a music festival I went to that took a lot of spend, and I also paid my rent with this card. I had to take a hit with a small fee but it was worth it for the signup bonus for me. If I wanted to use the card as a legit card for my expenses, I’ll typically go through all the personal spend for the SUB and then start using it for strictly business expenses afterwards for better organization. And I use QuickBooks as well. Hope this helps!
