We all need to be students of golf before we can be good at golf. Great video. 👍

Excellent advice, Chad, the handle must get to the golf ball before the clubhead. Knowledge of ball flight laws is crucial to reading your flight in the air. Trying to hit a straight shot is fruitless, no tour pro tries to hit a straight shot, so why should we. They all hit shots with some curvature, either left or right, and if it goes straight, it was by accident. A straight shot is the hardest shot to hit, and golf is hard enough, so why make it even harder. I like your new direction, it simpifies your swing and is less coinfusinnng than presenting different swings all of the time. Cheers.

Agreed, and thanks. Yeah, a zero path zero face impact is rare, so that's why I always say "straight-ish" shot, because it's moving a bit one way or the other. And you can play some really solid golf when you get impact fairly square often.

This past summer at range a gentleman came up to tell me he was talking to his wife about my straight ball flight and he wished he could do that. I told him I don't know what I'm doing for that to happen, my body feels so out sync with just trying make ball contact with my hybrid irons, it's struggle. So during this off season did a ton of research in what was I struggling with during my swing and possible causing. First thing was suggested was check the specs of your clubs especially the length. Brought out the ruler and sure enough my new hybrid irons are longer by a good margin which also changes the playing lie angle as well of what I normally play. So I did the necessary changes to bring them back into my proper specs. Now I can't wait for outdoor golf season to begin.

The equipment is the key piece in my opinion. It takes priority. So, job one has to be getting the right gear for you. Enjoy those hybrids!

Good stuff Chad, I still use a strong grip, because that managing the opening and closing of the club face is a tough thing to master if you’re not able to hit hundreds of balls a week. Thank you again for trying so many different methods

@@GolfTestDummy I’ve found I can hit some high quality shots with a number of different methods, even play some great 4-5 hole stretches, but each person has to stick with what’s most repeatable for them
@jimmcewen93519 ай бұрын
@@GolfTestDummy you know it’s strange playing a good 5 hole stretch and feeling like you don’t know what was causing the good shots to happen, if you can’t feel what was causing the good ones then can’t fix it when it starts to go sideways lol. That’s the challenge with trying different methods
@GolfTestDummy9 ай бұрын
That's one of the things that led me to the conclusions I have. What's the common denominator between all of these insanely different methods? Impact zone. Period. Grip, takeaway, setup, etc. All different, but the same at impact.

Hi Chad ~ which software are you using with your R10? I really like your views.
@GolfTestDummy9 ай бұрын
I've used E6 Connect almost exclusively the whole time. It costs me about $200 a year, and over a 12 month period, that's a little over $17 each month. Most people spend more than that donating Pro V1's to the woods.
@strongisland70159 ай бұрын
I think what’s going to happen to most players is they’ll start to look at how they’re swinging the club. Most people swing over the top and most of the time it’s because they’re not making a full turn in the backswing. So knowing your ball flight and will help you look at your own swing and see if you can diagnose what’s the path and club face is doing what it’s doing
@GolfTestDummy9 ай бұрын
Yep, the ball flight never lies. It let's you know all of the details, as long as you know how to read it.
@lisaroach24459 ай бұрын
Make it easy. Any ball that curves right for right handed golfer ,no matter where it starts is open clubface 95 percent of the time. Only like 1 to 2 options where it is not. Same for any ball that curves left no matter where it starts, closed face except for one or two options. Pick a spot 2 to 4 inches behind the ball on target line, let the blur of the club be inside of that. Watch the ball flight adjust grip , face accordingly off the lightest grip pressure and the most free swings. Don't adjust off herky jerky or very tight grip pressure swings
@GolfTestDummy9 ай бұрын
That's simpler. I like it. I thought the diagram was almost like a menu though. Find your ball flight, see the components that cause it, and adjust the path or face accordingly. Some of the best drawers of the golf ball start with an open face at address, and tons of pull slicers start with a really shut clubface.
@lisaroach24459 ай бұрын
@@GolfTestDummy Of course . Starting with an open face encourages sub consciously a closing face through the zone. Opposite is true for starting with a closed face. You can start with a low handle and go high through the zone. Opens the face. We can sit here all day talking about different causes and effects on the face. One thing I have come to believe. Your swing is swing. No changing it . Shawn Clements could groove a flat swing in his studio and be swinging his whirly bird swing in less than 9 holes. So let's make it easy Instinctually there are pullers and pushers. Most people are pullers . Think your baseball days. That's why most people start out pull slicing. You can use that swing effectively with the right ball position grip etc. That's what the OTT guy is teaching which is great for folks with the natural swing action of a puller . Not the only way , but a way.
@lisaroach24459 ай бұрын
Also Shawn Clements is teaching a natural puller action and fundamentals. Closed body hip bump forward and strong grip. And it's not the only way either. Would be terrible for a person whose natural tendency is flat swing and to pull the hands inside on the takeaway
