“My hope is that though we can’t control the outside world, or anything that goes on out there, that the walls of our home would be filled with smells and tastes and colors and textures and creations and all that is good and true and beautiful. That our minds and lives would be quiet, that we would mind our own affairs and tend to our own home, and that we would work faithfully and quietly with our hands to produce, to create.“ Beautiful! 😭❤️ loved this video so much

Creativity is the greatest pleasure you could give a child as a lesson in life on how to broaden their views. Looking at nature, takings twigs, stones, moss and making fairie houses for the little critters in the garden . My granddaughters loved that and they actually spent eight hours transfixed in creating theirs. Each week I watch my three grd kiddos and all they want to do is go up into my studio and play with clay, paint or cut and glue using old magazines. We’re making new bird houses now for the farm and they’re excited to see what bird will pick their creation come Feb and March.....we also are making nesting material bundles to set around the new houses. Creative play items is the only gifts I give at Christmas.....one grd daughter will be getting a weaving loom because at twelve she’s often bored and I hope this will give her a chance to make hats, purses and a kitty blanket for her pet....I think it’s great you’re showing others how being home can be such a great fostering of togetherness...thank you.

🤗Oh, your coffee grinder🤗 I’ve home roasted my coffee for over 20 years and refuse my morning peace to be interrupted by an electric grinder. I just ordered a new hand crank grinder... my old one simply wore out. I have never seen one like yours, must be an antique you were thrilled to find. I do not covet your’s... yet completely appreciate and “get” how you must enjoy and treasure it.

This brought a smile to my face, and reminded me of growing up in my grandmothers 100 year old converted barn. She is an artist, and I always loved seeing the the paintings she’d create, while there’d be little splatters, and smudges of paint on her clothes. It was a beautiful way to grow up, and I want the same for my children. Thank you for this reminder, your videos are such an encouragement to get back to the simple, and timeless joys.

You and your husband are incredibly inspiring. You come across as the, “perfect,” family, but I think that’s because it’s what *I* see. By, “perfect,”I don’t mean without flaw; the opposite actually. I can see when you’re nervous, and a little harried in the kitchen. I can see your husband helping you with so many things. It’s a team effort and you do good things together. You are people constantly striving to make yourself and your environment better. You are never done, and you keep a purpose. Even if you keep it up simply for the beauty of things. I’ve been soaking up your content the last 24 hours, and boy, did I need it! Thank you so, so much!

It rests the soul - amen! Make your bed, walk, prepare food and share it. The world takes place for us in our homes. The noise is distracting, makes people anxious that we are in a place we cannot control - WE can step back and enjoy our simple lives. I watch things grow, cook, walk my dog with faithful friends. Share. This is actually what living in this world is - thank you xxx

I am new to your channel and I just LOVE it!! You are so right about finding creativity inside our homes during this season of unrest....We just recently bought a home ( yes, during a pandemic!!) and discovered under top layers of grass, weeds, and poison Ivy, these lovely, 50 year old brick pathways in our backyard! There is also a beautiful brick wall. We are recreating the gardens that lived here all those years back. As you well know, it is a LOT of work, but so worth it!....I look forward to watching more from your wonderful Homestead!

So beautiful! The podcast this week was wonderful and goes so well with this video! And this hits on something deeper. Creating takes time and some sacrifice, but It’s a beautiful way to serve! We don’t create for ourselves or for the end result. We create to glorify our creator, calm our hearts for his service and bring joy to our fellow creature! Consuming is easy. Creating is noble.
