I am switching from Excel to Numbers because all the templates we use at work are 20 years old and hopelessly corrupted. I just bought a new M3 MacBook Air and am ready to scrap all the old mess I work with each day and Apple the heck out of my work. This tutorial gave me such fantastic ideas! Thank you, Gary!

Excellent tutorial. I never realized that a spreadsheet could be more than a table of boring numbers. Many thanks!

I missed a *lot* of school when I was a child and eventually caught up to everything but always had trouble with the abstraction of numbers beyond arithmetic. I have an organized mind and so was able to follow along here until you got to xlookup and then I was lost. Still, I enjoyed seeing an example of a helpful and interesting layout for a project. Thank you!

This is cool! I wish I knew about this way back before I retired. I could have had some real fun making reports.

this has been tremendously helpful...I was searching high and low, trying to find how I could design a nice form in Pages but have fields linked the info I have in a Numbers file. Now I know I can just use the numbers file in the first place...no linking necessary Thank you so much

Wow! So helpful. Am clueless on the Numbers features, but your vids help me with my antique mall business of tracking purchase costs, vs sales, expenses, mall commissions, sales tax and income tax reporting😩, what a nightmare for the uninitiated. I’m not knowledgeable enough to be automated as much as I’d like, but maybe you can help🙏or is there something you have already to point me to. TIA!

A very useful and informative video tutorial today! As always thanks for the visuals! Thank you, Gary! 👏❤️

Great, as always. Would it not speed up the formatting of texts and shapes by using "Copy Style" with "Option-Command-C" and "Past style" with Option-Command-V"? Well, after some further pondering, I must admit that in your use case - maybe not 🙂

Hi Gary, thank you for all the videos! I would like to know if there is a way to insert numbers cells in pages individually after a paragraph and then add the individual cells to get a total. So, in short, body text, cost, body text, cost, body text cost, total of all cost cells in final cost line... I hope it makes sense.

Yes, you can do exactly that. Try it and see.

I can't imagine how cool your results would be if you'd partnered up with an actual non-tech type/real artist! But as it is you've given this boomer-non-techie enough leash to help her waste oodles of time in Numbers : ). Thanks for all of your highly instructive and very useful videos

PS: If you happen to get back here, and know how I can get one of those heart emojis here, via my MacAir Keyboard? (where does YT hide the emojis??) I would be very appreciative. Thanks much!

Gary, is there a way to remove the pivot table's parenthetic phrase from the cells in the header row. Thank you.

I don't think so.

Can you review faxing from iMac again since I only have cell phone. My Insurance often request faxes of screen shots. Epson printer will not fax. Thanks Robert
@macmost Жыл бұрын
Call your that company out on that. They should not be requiring you to "fax" anything. Don't make them put you through that. For cases where you do though, you'll need to use a website service, like faxzero.com

Will you ever make the same film but for stock exchanges, for listed companies? Professional, with charts, price averaging, various stock exchanges, averaging exchange rates, etc.

Not sure what you are looking for. But go ahead and adapt this to using with whatever numbers you want.

Do you know of any good free GANT chart templates?

Sorry, no. Usually people use project management software for that.

Hi, i wanted to share an issue I’m having with Numbers and wanted to see if you can help. So my colleague and I use Numbers as our Sales CRM system, the table has reached 4000+ rows all filled with relevant data for our business. Whenever i try to collaborate this file with them, iCloud gives me an error that the file is too large and can’t be shared. Can you give me any alternative solution to make collaboration work?
@macmost Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I don't have any suggestions there. Maybe time to move to an online system, maybe one specifically for your industry?
@thomashartmann50372 ай бұрын
I agree with @macmost on this one. Why not try using one of the options found on AppSumo, like Blue, Amwork or NinjaPipe. Other alternatives I can recommend, that would not ruin you, could be Airtable, SmartSuite or ZOHO Bigin.
