That might catch up your gear score but in no right will you be doing close to what is needed for raid damage. Case in point, you can get a fury warr to 5.5k with pvp gear.. but you will be last place in damage for raids..

If your on a class with a heal spec you can jump into h++ at 3k gs by spamming mana pots which are cheap. You also get the rewards bag that gives tons of pots and flasks and you can gear all your specs super fast at that point. It also teaches you something if you see how ppl get themselves killed

that's the best point so far, if you have friends or connections this whole process goes from complicated and time consuming to nonexistent. just come to the raid and get all the gear. which is probably the way the game was originally designed anyways since you were meant to join a guild, form relationships, etc. we just unfortunately don't do that anymore

The fact you acknowledged a tank with 2k GS can clear the content is what most folks need to understand. I see your moves here. 💯 just most folks don't bat an eye. I got 3 toons 5100 and I've seen folks shut out real quick like. Most prefer efficiency, catch up just from a phase ago is nutty. Beta or nothing. Etc etc etc

Full disclosure I was worried when I invited that tank. But when I saw how doable the content was things changed completely. It was actually a lot more enjoyable watching someone get gear instead of just throwing it all away. Almost every drop in ToC was a relevant piece of gear or an upgrade. A very welcome change from how it normally is. Glad you have 3 characters at 5100+, this is definitely the alt phase and I'm working on more.

That comment was about trial of the champion, the 5 man dungeon that drops ilvl200 gear. Nowhere was it said that 2k gearscore is all you need to clear all the content. While gearscore isn't everything and gear choices mean more, it is a rough measure of how prepared someone is for a particular dungeon, and tanks especially need to be well geared in order to play their role well.

@@Mirage0153 I think his point was that even in a trial of the champion NORMAL people will gatekeep. The gatekeeping really never stops. But at some point gearing up undergeared players is..the point of the game. I think we all forget how easy it is to go and invite a new tank or a new dps or a new healer and they start getting geared up and they are 100% locked in for the rest of the expansion. Blizzard definitely forgets that.

@@NOHITJEROME Definitely agree with that, I'm a firm believer in gear choices more than gear score, and while I haven't been a fan of inflating gearscore with PvP gear because of how resilience is a dead stat in PvE for all purposes but tanking, and even that is suboptimal. You've mentioned in the video as well that players shouldn't get PvP pieces to increase gearscore over lower ilvl pve pieces, and that's a very important thing to keep in mind. About the gatekeeping thing I agree, there's a shit ton of it going around and the lack of the RDF is one of the biggest pain points in that regard, as a lot of time is spent looking for a group, then summoning, before any actual dungeon clear happens. And all the gatekeepers who oppose the dungeon finder will conveniently stfu if the same logic were to be applied to battlegrounds where everyone would need to ride to warsong gulch/any battleground instead of simply queueing for it.

@@NOHITJEROME exactly what I did, I have two warlocks I raid with so had a bunch of stone keeper shards but this shaman I had back in tbc and had 100 of each mark and capped honor so it was really easy, crafted bracers/belt/boots and bought a bunch of cheap stuff on ah to fill legs,chest. I think you recommended buying stuff on a previous short or video.

I just collected honor in wintergrasp on the way to 80 and bought BoEs for less than 500g and had almost 4k on the first day with lvl 80. So it was easy to go to archavon and onyxia.

Worth noting: when you start spamming h++s for essence, you'll get a ton of t8 emblems. You can buy 232 librams/sigils/etc, and if you want you can save gold on a belt by grabbing an emblem 232 belt. Your tier slots will be filled quickly with 225 tier tokens, so depending on your emblem economy, which 225 tokens you have, and how well the 232 t8 piece holds up for your spec, buy 232 tier helm and then chest if you're trying to save gold on chest slot. Also! Check the AH for any 225 BoEs you can use! They're dirt cheap right now

Yep I missed this part, that's a piece of information that everyone should know. Gloves, necklace, belt t8 are easily obtainable with the dozens of conquest emblems you'll be generating from H++. Also @ BOEs I wonder if the BOEs are so cheap precisely because nobody knows about them. WOTLK has a big information deficit right now where there are pieces of useful advice that barely anyone knows.

My guild consistently runs 25 tocs, with only the tank requiring 4.5k gs(bc life and threat). And its usualy one hour raid. People forget that wrath IS EASY, and if you dont turn your monitor off(or brain), its way faster than people imagine to get gear. i got to change from resto to enhc sham, and somehow, 1month playing 2 raids/week, doing almost no dailys, i got 5.2k GS, with 245 gear almost every slot, doing 7kdps every fight.

This is all great and inspiring, I wish more people thought the way you do. Though I will say ICC is not easy, it's an exception to the previous statement you made. That raid is designed to be almost impossible for normal players to do on heroic. Most players couldn't touch it until the damage buff came out

Your guide was able to help me to get to 3900 GS but i am kinda hard stuck. I can do heroic+ just fine but getting into any raids such as Onxyia and VoA is impossible. i only see TOGC posts. I have not gotten any Crafted BOEs as they're all expensive to buy directly and i am unsure how to get a crafter for them. Do i just need to buy a few crusader orbs and that's it. My two options are to slowly get gear from heroic+ or join a guild. I am from Pyrewood village.

You can get the materials and spam trade chat to get the BoEs crafted. They are expensive for sure, farming some gold at a location like the frostfloe cave in stormpeaks for eternal fires for a few hours would help with that a lot. You need to get all the materials for the craft and then spam for a crafter in trade and tip them 50g. On top of that spamming H+ is your best bet and then also doing normal ToC very soon. With 4.2k+ you can start getting into toc, I know the ony/voa aren't as popular outside of reset days, but toc normals are very hot.

​@@NOHITJEROME I see thanks. Yeah i managed to get to 4.1k now. Just need one trinket which i should be able to get from Emblem of Hero vendor. I did not realise that i could do Trial of the Crusader so soon so ill try to get into those groups after i crafted my BOEs. I also have some emblem of conquests to use. But in your video you have mentioned how you should fill out the rests of your slots with relentless gear and such but that would require arena and wins. compared to wintergrasp where i started that at 76 and got full 213 set the instant i hit 80.

Just leveled my paladin alt, second day of being 80 I'm 4844gs without doing a single Ulduar and one TOGC 25man (idk how I got invited with 4500gs and 4k DPS but I did and stayed + got bis boots and 2 more meh items) and only a few HC++. Getting the GS up is easy with the PvP gear, few HC++ and whatever raids you can get in. Then it about actually getting good items to do the DPS/healing/tanking.

Also one bonus tip which I don't remember you mentioning in the vid was doing the dungeons where you can kill the last boss fast for tier gear which helps a lot.

I'm late to see this but I definitely can recommend the cave in the north part of stormpeaks. It's really easy gold with a hyperspawn for crystallized fire which are 4+ g each on my server. (40g for eternal)

Second reset after 80, my Hpala was 5.4k gs. Same night I dinged 80, i Joined a world tour and got to 4.3k gs. Right when we killed the last boss, they invited me to a togc 10 (LOL) and got some items from there too. After that it was ulduar 25, got constellus and some other pieces. Then ulduar 10, got the rings. Then Togc 25, got some 245 ilvl pieces as well. Bought trinkets with eblesm of triumph and essences. Bought relic with heroism (since it is our BiS, can can u do). Now sadly I don't know how I'm supposed to get anymore gear simply because all my upgrades are coming either from ULD 25 (very rare to find good SR runs that can get past algalon) or togc 25 and these are only clearable with GDKP but i'm broke ( I have only 5k gold and starting bid for items is 10-15k+). I think I'll wait for icc XD while lvling other alts.

that's incredible. it's a shame I don't see more world tours in wotlk, it's rare to find them. hpal is very desirable which makes it easier i'd imagine. very great news is that hpal is one of the most desirable ICC specs. you'll be making a lot of gold in GDKPs, I would just hold off on upgrades and stash gold to spend in ICC now

Soul preserver feels unnecessary to me at this point. You have nearly infinite mana currently. The only question is whether you can use divine plea mid fight - basically is your guild dying SO fast that you can't justify less heals for even a second? You may be better off farming a bit of gold (crystallized fire from the northern stormpeaks cave -> buy some boe pieces (245 crusader orb + 232 runed orb) then farm other H++

I appreciate that a lot lukec. I thought about that a lot in the past. 1) I want to play an online game and make content for it because it's just easier and more mentally stimulating. (singleplayer games can be very deep, but I don't want to make stardew valley videos for 5 years) 2) There just aren't that many big MMOs anymore. I love love love(d) RuneScape, but WOW is bigger and has more potential. (can do retail content, classic, wotlk, classic+, etc) 3) Online games that aren't WoW are very skill based - ie valorant - it would be possible to be a relevant content creator there but the top end wouldn't really be possible. I'm happy with WoW, I enjoy it, I believe it will grow or at least not shrink as fast as other games. I also believe the MMO genre will have some new life within the next 5 years. If it's with WoW, great, I will be there. If it's somewhere else, I will investigate.

Hey man, I appreciate the effort you put into these videos and like the general channel but this video falls a bit under short and unfortunately has some inaccuracies that you should reconsider. First of all, Mjolnir is read with the J as a Y. Myolnir. Same way as Eren Jager is read as Yegar. But more seriously, the first real issue is the with mentality you bring with the idea of looking to get high gear score fast. Let's break it down a bit. First of all, the idea of gear score is to have a system in place that allows players to know quickly how relevant is your gear. Note, I'm saying relevant and not good. a Person with 4.2k GS can have a close to BIS naxx 25 gear on them. They may pull out better numbers than people that have 4.7k GS people that carry a lot of pvp items on them. The reason is that itemization is usually more important than the Ilvl. Ilvl only determines the amount of stats but is doing nothing with itemization. A good example for this can be seen with trinkets such as soul preserver for paladins or greatness for many DPSers. Both of these trinkets have relatively low ilvl when comared to other trinkets from ulduar and are still better choices in some cases despite the lower ilvl. A 4.8K GS rogue that has only pvp items will not pull the same dmg as a 4.5k rogue that is fully pve geared (and itemized correctly). Therefore instead of looking for items with higher gear score, it is better to understand the kind of itemization you need for your char and start snooping around for options. At the end of the day the community in classic is relatively closely knitted. You don't want to come to a raid as a 4.5k char and pull numbers like a 3.5k char. People will assume you're just bad at the game and it will put a mark on you that can last a long time. The 2nd thing is regarding crafted gear. As someone that has all professions maxed out, I can tell you that in many cases the profit margin is not great and going to farm mats alone is a huge waste of your main resource in life which is time. For instance, If you go to farm the mats for a belt from Ulduar and you spend 2-3 hours killing mobs to get the specific scales you want along with the eternals and all. you buy the runed orbs from the auction house or worse, use your badges of conquest to get them and you pay a crafter 50g tip to save a total of 500g. That may seem nice but you could have just bought that belt and pay 550g in total, start a beta hc++ world tour which will get you around 40 badges and will take roughly around 2-3 hours. you have a high chance to get some decent items along the way, you get the ulduar 10 HM gear currency. 40 badges equal to 4 orange/purple gems that sell for around 160-220g depending on the server and the time of day without cutting them. This means you ended up earning between 50-300g. I didn't take into account the stonekeeper shards that give you honor that can be converted to gems. So what should new chars do? 1. Read about your class to understand how itemization works on you and how to properly asses your char strengths. 2. Learn to sim your char properly to get basic insight on what is an upgrade and what is not. 3. If you can afford it, buy BOEs from the auction house. Check armor type. sometimes some gear is significantly cheaper if it's not your specific armor type. for example, if you're a paladin healer, maybe leather items are cheaper than the plate ones and have similar itemization. 4. Run HC++ daily. do as many runs as you can. try to kill as many bosses as you can. aim for bosses that drop upgrades. 5. VOA and Onyxia is a given. If you have free time do whatever raid you can at any size you can even if it's an old raid like naxx 10 or 25. usually these runs are fast, the badges translate to gems and gems translate to gold that you can then spend to get gear. 6. Once you have some basic gear and you got a bit of gold from gems and so on, look for a normal run gdkp that is looking for buyers. with a 10-20k gold budget you can normally get in pretty easily. giving you access to triumph badges and possible upgrades and if nothing drops for you or you got outbid, you still gain gold which will make your budget better next week.

I don’t disagree with the GS point you are making - a 4.2k player can outplay a 4.8k any day of the week. With a GS focus itemization and stat priority go out the window for a useless number that has little effect on performance. I just want as many players as possible to be in a position to take part in the endgame of ToC and ICC. This is the clearest and simplest way to get characters from non-desirable to desirable. Does it cut corners? Yes. Does it lead to a performance so bad that you potentially get remembered and blacklisted? Sure, you could have that bad of an experience. But the worst experience is never getting into any raids in the first place. There are a lot of clases that are just desirable right now that people would rather have a “bad” version of than not at all. @ the farming for gear section: I should have worded the “farm for your crusader orb gear” part better. In my mind you just go and farm or buy the crusader orbs and the other parts and bring them to a crafter. Overall I believe in your plan to get to raid-relevant gear and would love to continue the conversation.

@@NOHITJEROME First of, let me give you some kudos about the way you took this comment. Many people can't handle opinions that differ from their own and they tend to dig into their position and refuse to consider the option they may have missed something. I appreciate that. Most groups are looking for GS and logs when dealing with high level pugging and content. Without logs you're not getting in. in order to get logs, you need to perform. You can filter logs to break it down by your gear level and inflating your score will only make it that you way gray/green logs which is bad. Inflating GS is similar to a new guy in the gym trying to lift heavy weights to impress other people thinking it will improve his performance. The reality is that gym veterans know instantly that you're new despite the weight you carry just by seeing your form and common new mistakes. Additionally doing something like that may cause you a serious injury that will put your out of commission for a while and can cause you to stop going to the gym all together. Back to WOW - it's unlikely you'll get injured playing the game, but the online community is very different from the gym rat community. People can get toxic and petty very quickly and act in a way that will leave you with a very bad experience. Additionally, people tend to play meta classes and flavor of the month. If feral druids is the hot stuff right now, you'll see people rolling to it. inflating GS will cause the player to have some expectations and may cause them to abandon the char cause "it sucks". We both agree that not getting invited to groups is bad and may cause players to quit the game and that's the worst possible outcome. My point is that it's better to aim for the long game - getting properly prepared and invited and build reputation as a solid player with decent logs that will allow you to get invited to a better group and possible guild. And for that reason, I'd argue that it's better to avoid GS inflation. If you'd like to continue the conversation we can do that on Discord

@@NOHITJEROME it is a noticeable power spike when you're gearing up around there - so much so that i've been told to keep t8 4 piece bonus (at a mix of 225 and 232 ilvl) until i can get 2 pieces of t9 at at least 245 ilvl. but if people are x2 his dps at same gear score their rotation/dot cleaving may not be correct.

its ok for hardcore gamers who put alot of time playing the game... i as a college student have like 1 2 hours a day to play wow... i start a new class play it till 80 and some hc dungs then its done... a new character and class and play questing dungening till 80 and done... i mean i cant explain how enjoyable the game is the way i play it... play as all classes all quests... not worrying about raid times arguing with others...

That's a great way to play though I would say ToC is the perfect patch to add in raiding as well. The time spent in raid is less than 30 minutes and normal modes have zero stress or problems to deal with. If you really don't enjoy raiding though I can't tell you how to play, I am glad you are enjoying yourself. Personally I also like playing many classes and learning about them myself.

You can't get >5000 gs in one week, unless you get all items you need from ToC and Ulduar.... Buying both trinkets for essence will require 2 weeks of doing all H++ dungeons - which is 4h pure if you are a speed runner. You will 100% burnout. The title of this video is basically only true if you include GDKP runs.

If you farm a lot of gold at a spot like the frostfloe cave in stormpeaks for crystallized fire you can then turn around and buy boes for most slots. Then you can fill out the rest with PvP gear (temporarily) and replace it with 225 H++ gear. While you do that you can work towards an Ulduar HM piece as well from Sidereal essence and emblem gear too. It's possible within 2 weeks for sure

pvp gear at this point is 245 ilvl, it's higher than any pve gear you'll get outside of ulduar/toc so it's a good starting point. stats are solid, I did a full h++ UK yesterday in pure pvp gear with no problems.@@pancreasdragonheart9765

I've seen it done, this was based off my friend halvya getting 80 and 4.8k within a week. Some specs can buy up to 6 (maybe more) 245 and 232 BOEs on the AH. The only weak point is weapons really, if you get into a toc and buy /get lucky/get funneled a weapon you will be 5k

Honestly not worth it, if you want to achieve 5k GS it's to get into ToC HM but raid leaders wont let you come with pvp gear. Gemming and enchanting would be also quite expensive for a stuff you wont even use in PVE. Although yeah it's good for PVP I guess

it's big i only learned about it recently. if you take all your character's stonekeeper shards and liquidate them you probably have at least 20+ commendations to use

(when I swap to my war) At 70 you have a ton of great options if you can manage to scrape by with a good weapon until then.

Yes, because the game lasts only a few months with endgame content being by far the most enjoyable. It's already phase 3, one more phase down and we're likely to see cataclysm clasic which many players do not want to play. So no, there isn't time to dawdle around enjoying the game. Not saying that everything has to be a hardcore 24x7 grind, but getting to the endgame faster doesn't hurt.

@@Mirage0153 The concern for me is that we are driving a train with a track being laid down as we travel. Eventually that train will run out of track and we will all be either playing retail or a smaller version of classic/tbc/wrath with less hype and less nostalgia and less feeling of experiencing things for the first time. (or second time) Everyone wants the expansion to move slightly faster than it did originally. But the mindset is 100% raid log all the time and wait for icc, then cata will be the same, then mop will be the same. Then we will run out of expansions and have nothing left.

@@NOHITJEROME sure, but think about it this way - what is the biggest draw that wow classic has always had? It's the nostalgia, being able to relive an era in a game that has progressed far beyond and has seen so many changes. When you look at the data for private servers by popularity it's no secret that wrath is by far the most beloved expansion and classic wrath has been like a chance to experience that joy on official servers just to see what it feels like. The things that you've mentioned about the collecting achievements and farming rep and such are appealing to people for sure, but these things are not drastically different from how it is on Private servers and achievement hunters aren't really missing out on them. These things can be done at leisure. Raiding however, to experience your favorite raids and dungeons the way blizzard meant for them to be scripted is a huge draw of the classic franchise, which is why the game is so fun in the endgame especially for someone trying to relive their childhood.

That makes sense. Maybe over time the nostalgia goes from being for the specific thing you were doing (collecting mounts or whatever) to just wanting to experience the main big draws of the game as an adult. (ie raids) For example in runescape I used to spend all my time standing around in banks talking to people and trading. When I came back a few years ago, I mainlined the quests..did all the pve bosses, etc. As an adult you want to do things efficiently and experience the "real" fun. But then of course maybe the real fun was just being a kid and that era of your life just being full of fun and curiosity by default.

@@incdblrnx that's the real best strat for gearing. know people that will take you even with low gear. it's unfortunate nobody other than existing friends will make an investment in a player like that. I bet there are a lot of good players that don't have gear (yet) that could catch up much faster with a guild and then perform at a high level.

Even for dps having pvpngear in pve is shit. Unless u want gem everyone hit gear score don't mean shit if u don't jl have the right stats for pve. I'm a hunter I had 4500 gs on raid and topped dps from agubter with 5600 gs all pvp gear. So really wouldn't recommend this guild unless you want to leech. That might not gear check but they do check logs and of ir dps is shit but bye

I did it on my fury war and yeah it sucks for sure, but it's the best way off the ground. Use PvP gear sparingly and use BoEs more often in all cases. Next phase we can finally get a nice boe weapon (battered hilt) and of course the new defiler's scourgestones for buying 245 weapons

But to be fair the way I did it would have probably took the same time as this with abit of gold, I just farmed heroics soon as it let me que in randoms. Bought badge gear. Amd the boe 245 pve stuff in ah. I've not even entered a battle ground yet pvp ain't my style.. the pve stuff on ah is so cheap now and the mats for graftable 245 gear. On my server atleast they are. I guess because of icc coming out. Really didn't spend alot of gold maybe 1k on 3 items. Rest badge loot from betas +heroics mainly betas. Thanks for taking the time in this guild. Will defo use it on a pvp character

now you can also do trial of the champion, it's a lot better and i didn't factor it in. another thing you can do is use all the H++ you do to get conquest emblems and then buy gear from that too. plus there are a lot of new boes

that sounds great, but tldr rejuve everyone while prioritizing ranged on most fights (but trying to upkeep rejuv on melee for rage etc too) and tanks (so..everyone) and wild growth melee or the stack. get t10 4 set asap, make sure u always have an assignment where u can reach the whole raid on every fight. should be able to top a lot of fights, rdruid is solid

it's worth it because you also get stonekeepers shards, I bet you have way more now than before. also the camaraderie of spamming toc over and over with the same people builds friendships that last a lifetime. (nevermind that I completely forget who I was running with lol)
