I loved how you showed your day starting..Very peaceful, and uplifting. I love when you share what the kids are doing, and so happy to hear your considering homeschooling. Those boys are so precious, and your doing such an amazing job with them. They grow up so fast..I used to take mine to Library sales every year. Most libraries have a book sale every year to make room. They usually sell a bag full of books, or movies for a buck, or couple dollars. One year I got a bible trivia game, and we would play it as a family. The kids still talk about it to this day because my son always answered every question with "Egypt?" and everyone would laugh..Its Good to build happy memories with them...they never forget what their taught when their young. I pray for you all each day, and know God is blessing you with all things.. :)

It is so so so so nice to see the effort and thought u put into ur children's education... my brother and I were considered gifted, so we never got much help with school work at all, my wish to do home-/blended schooling got shut down and all in all resulted in me dropping out as soon as i was legally allowed to. I will never hear the end of it because of my "potential" and how "easy" it shouldve been for me. :^) Exploring options is never a bad thing, since everyone needs their own blend of how to do things and i am glad u to try n provide that for ur family ~

I just love how you make your home so peaceful and welcoming. And I think it’s great you are considering homeschooling! I have 4 kids and we just finished our first year of homeschooling. We will be continuing next year 🙂 Although it was intimidating at first, once we got into a rhythm I realized there is really so much freedom in it. Also, my daughter loved A Wolf Called Wander 🙂 I am anxious to hear what you decide! And would love to hear feedback on the curriculum you choose.

My sister started homeschooling her three kids at the beginning of 2021 and they love it. She has them involved in the local homeschool community and other activities so that they still have social interactions, which was what her oldest child (12 at the time) was concerned about. They are doing very well academically and are able to spend more time with family since lessons/schoolwork can be taken with them. Her oldest is even talking about what college courses she'll be able to take while still in high school. It's not for everyone but if you can, I highly recommend it based upon how I see my nieces thriving.

Yes. Socialization is huge, and something I'm definitely considering. My kiddos really love learning together, which is really fun, and adorable. I honestly think they will both excel academically with homeschooling, and I'm excited to teach & learn along side them.

I absolutely love your videos. I tried homeschooling about 4 years ago using Abeka. I quit! I couldn’t do it. I did finish the year so my kids wouldn’t get put back a grade. But it was so hard. God bless those moms who have the patience having different age kids with different needs and able to homeschool. I couldn’t. It’s not easy.
@racheltalbott2 жыл бұрын
Yes. It's a serious commitment. My biggest concern is socialization and making sure we are staying on track or getting ahead academically. I feel like finding the right curriculum blend, and creating a schedule that works for our family is gonna be the key to making it work. We'll see. At the very least, we'll get some supplemental work done this summer and get a head start before the next school year.
@LDM8052 жыл бұрын
@@racheltalbott There is a homeschool advocate that says, we socialize our animals not our children, and school is for education not socialization. Plus its been proven that homeschooled children are more "socialized" than public school children as they have more real world experiences. I've done both, I'm a big fan of homeschooling.

Hard to believe summer is right around the corner already. I also like to get up a little earlier and have time to myself to have coffee and watch You Tube videos or read a chapter or two of a book in progress. Every time I go to Trader Joe's I'm underwhelmed and never find much that I can't find in my supermarket. They have a lot of frozen meals in a bag kind of things that are not my favorite. I usually pick up nuts and some fruit. Here in NY I don't necessarily find it to be a bargain. Anyway, maybe the pickings are better where you are.

Homeschooling can be a great option. I will suggest to make sure you are super comfortable teaching (not just completing) higher-level content, especially math, if you choose to homeschool. As a middle school teacher, we see so many kiddos transition back to us from homeschooling because their parents realize they aren’t comfortable teaching the higher-level content that comes along with the upper grades. A lot of those kids faced struggles with not only the challenging content, but also with the socialization aspect as well. This isn’t the case for all the kids that have come back, but it has been for many. I just share this because so many parents told us they wish they had known before deciding. Again, homeschooling can be a great option, but just wanted to share that it’s worth looking deep into the curriculum for all grade levels, especially the upper ones ❤️
@racheltalbott2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I appreciate you sharing this. 🙏 This is definitely something I'm considering. Do you have any resources or suggestions for me to look into? I will start doing research now. I think we'd be ok for the next few grades, but upper grades will be challenging if we decide to stick with homeschooling. My husband helped me with all of my college level math classes, so hopefully he would help. I would definitely need preparation to teach math. For now I'm just hoping to get a head start on 3rd grade and kindergarten. haha
