I was about to say that. It reminds me of the famous Iwo Jima scene of the soldiers holding up the flag. Every member of the parks crew are struggling to get Leslie up there, and they're doing it because of how much they believe in her. They're a family, and they're going to get her on that stage even if they all look silly.

There's an interview of the creator Mike Schur where he said that in the original script for this scene he'd written that he wanted them getting Leslie on the stage to look like the Iwo Jima monument. Achieved, I'd say.

Not only is this moment absolutely hilarious, it’s deeply symbolic. It represents their entire campaign. A haphazard affair that nobody except they believe in where no one knows what they’re doing and they could mess up at any time. They’ve got barely anything to work with and are constantly messing up in front of everyone but they still get to the goal as a team and get Leslie to where she needs to be. It’s just so beautiful.
