Guys like you should make more videos. You got to straight to the point and didn't waste any words. I develop software, but I hate tech. Every time I try to learn someone else's "brilliant" ideas it's like slogging through Hell with a broken translator set to "Moron". You made all that better... thank you!

I’m glad I stumbled upon this channel. As a longtime Android user, I recently bought an I-pad mini. I like it well enough that I’m researching going all in with Apple.

Apple is an amazing ecosystem… But one of the challenges is if you are half in you only get half of the value. Going full in everything talks to everything, you can copy something on your phone and paste it on your computer… You take pictures and they show up on all of your devices. You sync and share notes, and all of your websites Are instantly synchronize across every device. When you are fully in the ecosystem it’s a magical experience. Let me know if you have questions about any Apple devices or services.

@@TheMacWhisperer I do have 1 quick question. When you plug an I-phone into a MacBook; does the phone become part of the file manager like Android does on Windows?
@TheMacWhisperer4 ай бұрын
Not really, but you don’t need it to because since everything is synchronized through Apple everything on the phone is already a part of the computer. It shares the same file structure and the photos already sync up… So all the reasons that an android needs to act like a USB flash drive or just irrelevant on an iPhone. There are ways that you can make it act like a USB drive… But it just isn’t necessary.

May I make a suggestion? Please explain how the alerts work. They seem to work in reverse of what I think they should. Or, explain the 2nd alert as just an “additional”alert. I had the hardest time figuring these out. Until, I went on an Apple support site, and it was explained by someone answering this very question that a lot of other people were asking.
@TheMacWhisperer Жыл бұрын
Interesting.... when you say they worked in reverse of how you thought they would... how did you think they worked? Yes, the 2nd alert is an additional alert to the 1st one.... please elaborate your thoughts on what you were expecting.

Is there a way that can look at each calendar I’ve created individually?
@TheMacWhisperer Жыл бұрын
Sort of, but it's a pain. Click the calendar button at the bottom middle, click hide all at the top of each section, and then select one calendar and click done... rinse and repeat. But I wouldn't recommend it... why do you need that function... maybe there is a better way to accomplish what you're trying to do.

Great tutorial, but the iOS Calendar app prevents me from actually getting an iPhone since it's so limited
@TheMacWhisperer Жыл бұрын
There's no reason to restrict your iPhone purchase based on the calendar app... there are dozens of other calendar apps that can be used on an iPhone from Fantastical to BusyCal and even Google's Calendar app. If that's the one thing holding you back, don't let it, just use a different app.
@moetube1337 Жыл бұрын
@@TheMacWhisperer Fantastical and BusyCal are really expensive and google's calendar doesn't have all the features I'd want/isn't as customizable, so for me it would be a real issue..

How do you alphabetize the Calendars list?
@TheMacWhisperer3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to alphabetize the lists. But you can do it manually. In my opinion, alphabetizing isn't always the best way to sort. It assumes that the lists that start with a are more important than the lists that start with S or Z, so it's just somewhat random. I prefer to put calendars in order of priorities… And encourage people to not have so many different calendars that you need to alphabetize them. But if you want to, just drag them into the right order.

Hola cual es la diferencia entre Calendario y Reminders si en ambos puedo poner una notificación puedo poner el dia y la hora. Y programar una actividad en ambas aplicaciones.
@TheMacWhisperer2 жыл бұрын
The way I teach the difference is that you use your calendar for any events that must happen at a specific day/time or place. Reminders are different, sometimes they move around, they generally don’t have to do with other people, just things that you have to or want to do. If you put all of your reminders in the calendar, your calendar gets very cluttered and it becomes difficult to see when you have available time or what you’re supposed to be doing. Meanwhile reminders sorts and organizes things into lists that give you alerts, without blocking out specific times. Again, calendar is perfect for something that MUST happen at a specific day/time, a specific place, or with a specific person. While reminders can be much more general.

@TheMacWhisperer Жыл бұрын
If you are using google calendars, they can't be deleted from iCal. They have to be deleted from the Google Calendar webpage. Hopefully, that helps. If it's not a google calendar let me know and I will see what other things could be the problem.

@TheMacWhisperer10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately the autofill cannot be easily deactivated on the phone... but if you have a mac synced to the same calendar you can open the calendar app, go to settings, and under advanced you can "remove all recent locations and attendees". If you don't have a mac, search in the calendar for the event that keep auto populating and delete it from your history. That should eliminate it.
