It was also because his mother died in a hit and run, and seeing her unconscious behind his car reminded him of how she died. So either way, whether or not he was thinking about Rose's grandmother lving in her head or he innocent person trapped in there with her; he wasn't just going to leave her there, the guilt would be too much. If you look again, at that specific moment, they cut to that image of Chris watching TV when he was a kid, the same image that appeared during the hypnotherapy scene when he described that trauma to Rose's mum.

@@syafiqjabar They're also infamous for racial profiling post-9/11, needless to say. On the other hand, as 42% of TSA officers are POC vs. 33% of police officers, it's a much more diverse institution. And this is anecdotal, I remember people saying racialized TSA agents were pulled out of view immediately after 9/11 so it would be only white officers visible at security. So, it might be a joke on Peele's part -- kind of a lighthearted B plot about the non-heroic cousin of the CIA and FBI -- but nevertheless, the TSA is simultaneously rife with institutional racism and a relatively safe, stable place to work *for* racialized people. Maybe it does reflect some of the themes of the film.

@bg54693 жыл бұрын
both endings they shot (this and one where chris is arrested and implied to either be imprisoned for the rest of his life or put to death) are bittersweet for different reasons and both end with chris in a cage of some sort, physically or otherwise. i don’t think either are quite as neat as real life. that being said, all things being equal, the last 10 minutes are an amazingly cathartic crescendo to the story. it may not be quite this brutal or quite this sudden but we’ve all (most anyway) fantasized about taking revenge against the enemies of equality and human decency. this ending is a perfect end to chris and rose’s character arcs.

One thing that’s not realistic though is when he got the flash off, the girlfriend DEFINITELY would’ve saw it go off, and the way he got up and talked as Well.
@jonboii43224 жыл бұрын
I agree about the flash part but not the way he spoke. I always try to wrap my head around how she didnt see the flash though. I guess it couldve been the way he was angled or she just didnt know the flash would make the original owner surface. But then peele shouldnt of had her at the scene in the beginning when lakeith stanfield got flashed
