Perfect example of how a script is merely the foundation on which acting, directing, editing, lighting, ect is built.
@michelleojiako30066 жыл бұрын
tuck2727 exactly it’s just an idea of how the film will turn out kind of like a. Rough draft ! If actors went exactly with the script it would feel “scripted” and unauthentic.
@gnulen5 жыл бұрын
@@michelleojiako3006 bullshit. 99% of the time actors follow the script. this is only because the writer and director is the same person

Michelle Ojiako That’s a bit disrespectful of the work screenwriters do.
@angelixa3015 жыл бұрын
@@MsLazykat Not really, as an aspiring screenwriter (not English, because it's not my native language but whatever), it's actually really true and makes it kind of "different". You litearly have to imagine how something turns out to sound and look like, before it's even made. You have to lay a foundation for a movie, that has a defined line, so the plot doesn't get messy, but at the same time, it's flexible enough to be changed even last minute, in order for the movie to be better. :D

Horror is especially dependent on collaboration. The entire scene can be ruined by one element: music, camera movements, bad edits, sound editing.

At the very beginning of this clip, before he could suspect anything she said “You’re getting very sleepy.”, that’s why he didn’t just get up and walk out. She had him right after he sat down.
@jonathanbarrett45952 жыл бұрын
She said it in a joking way to lighten the mood and make him feel more comfortable (more vulnerable) notice how as the scene progresses she goes from maternal to cynical. The hypnosis truly starts when she brings up his trauma “what about your mother” “where were you when she died”

masterpiece. One of the best, if not the best movie I've watched all year. AND THIS SCENE. HOLY- Incredible in every department. And the best acting I've seen all year. I can't believe this film only won 1 oscar. Jordan Peele is such a master and the team he finds, puts together and what they create is nothing short of exceptional.

Where did you get this version of the script? It deviates from the dialogue in more places than just dialogue. I initally thought they were ad libbing on the one presented in your video but another version was uploaded with the other nominees. It was more spot on in terms of dialogue.

@@colinjensen8303 At the time I was reading one of the scripts floating around but I do have the official script now published last year. I'd have to look at this scene to see the differences. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the scene that made the final was ad-libbed. In the book, Peele and others discuss deviations including the highly publicized alternate ending.

You should watch the film then. Trying to explain this scene with enough context to not leave you with more questions would actually require someone to explain literally the entire film to you, and at that point you might as well just watch it (or read a synopsis if you prefer).

@@DrPonk that is fair to elaborate briefly I suspect the rest of the film is more fantastical to represent all sorts if psychological phenomona I just find it a little juxtaposing to start with a very realistic and healthy diaolouge and then to go towards Disney levels of visual storytelling NOT saying it's bad or critiquing it even That's just my thoughts seeing it Although I shall put this higher up on my bucket list I remember this movie having weird advertising
