It’s not every day that we handle a car from this era, but when we do, the historical research is fascinating. It’s a voyage of discovery that we love to embark upon.
As you know, the car has now found a new owner, and on delivery he couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel - it was his first-ever pre-War car. Just like Ulysses not resisting the call of the sirens, he soon submitted to the song of the supercharger… Can you blame him?

Nowadays these go for well over a million dollars, definitely a dream car of mine. I saw a hardtop one on Classic driver some months ago for a million dollars, that had been owned by a bunch of famous people like Peter Ustinov.

Bentley was gone by 1932. Rolls-Royce killed it stone dead. The so-called Derby Bentleys were just entry-level Rolls-Royces rebadged and detuned.

I was thinking the same think of dimi911,it seems a Junkers Stuka diving from the sky. It was the symbol of nazi arrogance,Hermann Goring and Eva Braun had one of those,but,perhaps,with the Volkswagen this was the only good thing they did. Its beautiful.
