Beautiful!!! I just wanted to express my deepest gratitude. I've been wanting to try resin crafting for OVER A DECADE, and I finally made my first casting yesterday! Boy did I make a lot of mistakes that I didn't account for despite all my research! XD But, I also had a lot of successes, AND (as someone who does have a LOT of health issues including skin, respiratory, and immunological complications) I felt safe and confident the entire time fully loaded up with my PPE and comfortably working outside lol and it was a wonderful experience! I say all of this to share that your how-to videos were the BEST I'd come across. They were extremely thorough and covered so many scenarios that ended up happening to me. My ultimate goal is to sell my creations by making beautifully ornate dioramas, boxes, and lots of nerd-culture things lol but I feel so, so happy and accomplished to finally have started with it all. I know this was a long comment but I just really wanted to share my thanks and my experience and let you know the WORLD of a difference you made in someone's life. =) "Take care, enjoy your resin!!"

Wow, Steve, those pendants came out really nicely. They looked as if they were made of the bark of a tree under resin, which was an interesting result.this Thanks for the inspiration. This idea of yours gives me ideas for an application in a piece of art I'm planning to make. Have you tried this method over metallic paint, or over Gold leaf? This was a fascinating video Steve, thank you for posting it. God bless you and all those you know and love. Have a great rest of your week.

I did a run of this a few years ago, works great and the top coat really makes it pop. Great for making mud road surfaces o=in landscaping, and for lava effects too, always great on top of resin . I think it was about 40 years ago Dad taught me how to do this with that stuff and resin on model railways. Good work Steve. Sounding fine through your mask Steve :)

Love your work. I' struggle a bit with Mental Health. You have been very inspiring to me and I thank you for that.I've tried this in my hobby/craft and I agree that putting a thick layer of "Crackle" , then a thin final paint coat is the way to go. But I've also seen a YT video where the woman sugested applying the final paint coat before the "Crackle" is dry. It works great. You get much bigger and better crackle effect, which is good on larger pieces. Maybe not so on small pieces.

Totally unrelated, but I am dying to know if you have ever tried speeding up slow-cure resin. Have you tried using a heat mat or the resin curing machine on something with deep pour resin? I know it will not cure in 2 hours, but I wonder if you could get it down to like 8 hours or something?
@jodimarie379
@jodimarie379 Жыл бұрын
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts I'm worried too. I wanted to make that faceted sphere you have woth a few alcohol ink drops, but it is too deep. However, slow cure means the inks usually disperse too much and you end with either a solid color or maybe a solid color and a white bottom. Oh well. Thanks for the reply.
