This would make a spacious one bedroom apartment. The upstairs bathroom could be enlarged. If possible windows added back to the rear wall in the bedroom. I’d convert the space under the stairs to half bath and laundry room.

Great city apartment. So many possibilities. Love downstairs w kitchen. But as I think about it, could also like downstairs as bedroom & bath... & upstairs w/ kitchen & living area... like a great room in US... & as living took it’d also have the beautiful upstairs window. Would need architect I suppose- or online app- to figure it all out! I do think if bedroom downstairs, I’d make it 2 bedrooms. Very lovely place almost move-in ready... and in midst of the town where people will always be around. Great too for a ‘city’ type person.

The ds area could be made into a contemporary open- plan living n kitchen w island. The nook can be a laundry-pantry area, maybe even a toilet. U/s the closed-up windows def need to be opened. If the design is done correctly, a good-sized bedroom w either a walk-in dressing area or a mini study can be added. Very curious abt the courtyard!!

I'd probably just talk to the neighbors who own the courtyard behind the property. I'm sure an arrangement could be made to open up all of the original windows without needing to get the government involved. Maybe just need to have frosted glass and windows that only open a crack, for their privacy.

I like the property, it's big enough for a vacation house for me. I would keep one big bedroom and will add a nice bathroom and laundry room on the second floor. Also, I would like to have an additional window in the bedroom. How much will it cost to do remodeling, including new kitchen?
