Okay this will sound like a thesis. This isn't a great movie by any stretch but was very enjoyable. The film had many things going for it: - Aaliyah and Jet Li are both very likable actors and had great chemistry. It's a minor touch but I like how Jet Li was shorter than Aaliyah. Goes against what we usually see in movie couples. I think part of Jet Li's charm is that he isn't built like a leading man, so he's like an underdog in a way. - Anthony Anderson was funny to me, sorry. "Sometimes you win. And dim sum you lose" 🤣 - Jet Li calling Anthony Anderson meatball was also funny. - Fight choreography was unrealistic sure, but a lot of fun, to me. - I like how we see Asian and black gangs interact with each other. Something we don't see too often so it was refreshing. - And this film was also self-aware. It knows what it is and pulls no punches (no pun intended). Also, it's not fair to compare Jackie Chan to Jet Li. Jet Li is known more for his fighting style, and as a martial artist, while Jackie Chan, albeit also a good fighter, relies on creativity and stunts. Both are awesome btw

To be honest this movie was not good but I don’t think it deserves a bad movie roast. Aaliyah Try Again was amazing, what a classic song!

Yeah this movie is just very mediocre despite having moments that are BMR worthy. If they were to do a bad Jet Li movie, it should've been The One.

To think, Tony Jaa can actually move across people's bodies without wires, and effortlessly. I think Crouching Tiger did the most beautiful job with wire fights.

Thank you for reviewing this! Ya’ll speak the truth! But this was based in the Bay Area, lots of us didn’t like the fact that NO OTHER characters act like there from the North Bay/Bay area San Francisco and Oakland area. They didn’t even use the word “hella” but oh well, entertaining movie and thank you Korey, Martin & Billy for this. Hahaha the club scene from you guys. LOL 😂.

To be fair, if you watch a classic wuxia or Shaw Brothers classics... they literally sometimes float on a thin branch and jump up to roof buildings. I loved those movies as a kid.
