A trick that helps the installation is to squirt a little windex on the plastic surface. The windex allows you to move the vinyl around without excessive sticking while you place it. Then, the windex evaporates from under the vinyl and doesn't impede the sticky from adhering properly. Just don't put too much on. Also, when you've got the vinyl in place where you want it, use something like a miniature squeegee to push any air bubbles out before it dries.

I'e read to use 90% isopropyl alcohol, it won't leave a film like windex does.

My 2024 Colorado ZR2 has the charging surface, came off the same way, no issues. I sprayed Invisible glass cleaner over the console after cleaning, helped with install. Thx!

@@Pdxgunfighter got it, looks decent. Some of the wrinkles just wouldn’t go lol. Such a tedious process. I even had to make a small cut for it to fit properly but it still looks pretty good. I don’t suppose you got the door sill protectors and could do a video on that?

I don’t remember where I saw it but theirs this coating you can spray on piano black and it never scratches and keeps the black shiny and new, but you have to apply it before you get those scratches

Just spry it with clear flat paint. Makes it nice matte

I have a 2024 Colorado ZR2, and if Chevy came out with a new cover that 100% matched the dash and I just had to install it, I'd buy it.

LOL, I bought that and it was a pain in the ass and had to throw it away!! Was fighting with creases left and right!! I couldn't live with it looking like shit!! I think they could do better!!

If you contact them they will send ya out a new one more than likely free of charge. And the better way to do it would be use a full piece of vinyl and cut around the holes. But it wasn’t to bad. I got it in and think it looks pretty good.

I bought the ZR2 bison decal that goes around the Chevrolet , I payed someone because that’s a hard decal to install but they ruined it cause GM gave me one for a Silverado it was slightly to big, the company did give my 180 back, if would have installed it I doubt GM would have refunded my money, I ended up buying the decals that go on top of the Chevrolet and easily installed them myself!

@@jimmycline4778 Huh, me, I'm going to strip all the "Colorado" and "ZR2" stickers and badging off for a clean/stealth/sleeper look. Makes washing and waxing it easier. I'll leave the one in the grill because it's discreet and I like it and it would be too much trouble to remove anyway. Those that know what a ZR2 is (by the DSSV shocks/frame mod - everything else you can fake) will know what it is and those who don't, won't.

@@kx8960 just paint the thing matte black and put a couple coats of matte clear on it. Even if you screw it up it's a $20 part from GM to replace. I tried this vinyl overlay and it was a nightmare trying to get it to go on without wrinkles. Plus, I didn't like that it doesn't fully cover all the gloss.

I did the same thing. Amazon Prime offers different buying options. I wrap all of my glossy items with the standard car wrap vinyl. Lots of videos out there on how to install. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX_Ml2Vsidaboa8
