Really surprised to see anyone reacting to this old TV movie! I remember when it aired originally, and I’m really surprised to see you enjoying it, so far… Would you believe… That I actually had the opportunity to meet several of the remaining cast members of the show about seven or eight years ago? Well… I DID! Barbara “99” Feldon, Dick “Hymie” Gautier, “Dave “Agent 13” Ketcham, & Bernie “ Siegfried” Kopell! All were so great & nice, & it was an absolute honor for this old fan of the original series! 😁 Now, you should watch the original series! 😉

You may recognise Don Adams as the voice of the original Inspector Gadget, which has a lot of similarities to the Get Smart show. An agent, with hidden gadgets, working for a chief who was tasked with stopping an evil organisation.

The TV show was so great! Not expecting you to react to it on this channel, of course, but if you get the time you'd probably love watching some of the episodes. Incidentally, the first episode, which is a wonderful introduction to the series, is in black and white, while all other episodes are in color.

I've watched the original tv show (1965-1970, though I wasn't alive then) and the reboot movie (2008 with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway), but somehow I've never seen the 1989 movie. Or, at least, if I did watch it, I totally forgot it since then.

Loved the show when I was a kid. This movie is a lot of fun since it brings most of the then living actors in their tv roles. There was a 2008 movie with Steven Carrell. Its good, but always will love Don Adams as Maxwell Smart.

What an amazing surprise! So much better if you had seen some of the original TV show. Would you believe there were 1000 episodes?! Ok, would you believe 500? Ok 138. Sorry about that Roly

The original show was a spoof of the James Bond movies and other spy movies of era. It was created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry (you might recognize him as the IRS agent from "Grumpy Old Men". It is said that Max is a combination of James Bond and Inspector Clouseau. This is the second of the two movies that came out following the original run of the series from 1965-1970. The first movie, "The Nude Bomb" came out in 1980, then this movie in 1989. There was an attempt to bring back the series in 1995, but that only lasted 7 episodes. I highly recommend that you watch the original series. It was so funny. Each episode is a half an hour, or probably about 20 minutes without commercials. And there were some very famous guest stars that made appearances: Johnny Carson, Bob Hope, Tom Bosley (Mr. Cunningham on "Happy Days"), Carol Burnett, Leonard Nimoy, Regis Philbin, Don RIckles, and Vincent Price, just to name a few. The original series ran for 138 episodes. And a fun fact: the first episode, "Mr. Big" is the only episode of the series filmed in black and white.

Hi Ollie. If you want to watch where (talkie) film comedy began you should check out the Marx Brothers. Nearly a century old and still hilarious, and surprisingly fresh. The films are on the shorter side and I recommend two most highly. I think *A Night At The Opera* is the best Marx Brothers film to watch first, as it really gives you a sense what they're about. But it is their second-best film. Their best film is funniest if you already know their schtick (as you would if you see A Night At The Opera first). That film is *Duck Soup* , and it is a 1 hour, 15 minute masterpiece of comedy.I hope you choose to look into them. As always, keep up the great work! I love watching your reactions!

I agree that "A Night at the Opera" should be the first one to watch but I have "Duck Soup" behind "A Day at the Races", "Animal Crackers" & "Horsefeathers". They're all great though.

I love that movie. Silly but fun. Unfortunately, it gets a lot of hate since it was more of a "reboot" rather than a "reunion" like this one.
